He's not a bad option as your 3rd or 4th RB but he looks like a Henry Parrish level talent without the receiving ability. It would've been nice to grab a guy who is a proven pass catcher as a third back.
Ended Rebel career with 1,494 yards and 15 touchdowns rushing on 291 carries, 43 catches for 314 yards, and 1,846 all-purpose yards

Led Miami in rushing both seasons ... Tallied 1,241 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing on 230 carries during Miami career ... Added 28 receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns .

Henry Parrish ;level talent is a take all the time

When you dig into the #s they aren't very impressive considering he played for the best FCS team:

He was pretty unproductive against their tougher opponents.
This is my concern as well - 4.8 ypc at the FCS level on the best FCS team is not that impressive. Fine as a depth take but this is more like RB4 or RB5 than a real rotation guy next year.

Short yardage and goal line is what he’s best at and it was much needed after Martinez departure

I thought that was Elija Lofton's job?
Would’ve been if we whiffed on Brown. This gives us a lot more flexibility.

IMO, this was our best recruiting job of the spring portal. He turned down more carries elsewhere. Lyle and Fletcher were heavily involved in recruiting process.

Pleasantly surprised at RB and disappointed a bigger name didn’t jump in the Portal at WR. A lot of pressure on Trader to be the guy.
