Cause you know as well as everyone else the PLAN (and D$ has said this) was to get a RB3/4 type depth addition period so that we didn't HAVE TO play Lofton at RB more often than we choose, since he's our clear TE1. I'm sure Lofton will be used at RB a few snaps per game or for any injuries.

And Actually this is likely a better RB addition for this portal window than I thought were were even likely to be able to get tbh.

No I don't know.

D$ money literally said 2 weeks ago Lofton would be his guess for RB3.

I'm not on the Coaching staff & I don't talk to anyone on the staff, so I don't know jack sh*t.

Lofton was repeatedly talked about by MULTIPLE people on the board who have watched practice as supposedly the best RB on the team. The theme of the entire Spring has been that Lofton is this Elite Swiss Army Knife that can be a RB/FB/TE etc..

Not to mention, there were multiple reports about CWH improving & that there wasn't really a need to add another RB because Lofton would be RB3 & CWH would fill the role at RB4.

Only difference is that we got a guy that SHOULD be RB3 as opposed to RB4. But we were always targeting a Rb to add. I mean Don't you keep saying to just look at the actions the staff is taking? We haven't been targeting any TEs in the Portal but Have been targeting RB....To me that clearly signals throught their actions that they want Lofton at TE and not to HAVE to play him at RB out of need.

.... Doesn't change that it was what the staff was wanting to do all along lol. Again look at who we targeted in the portal - which is what you tell others to do. Literally all it took was looking at our roster to see we were going to need a RB. And in fact you literally linked that post of yourself above.

And because you have commented multiple times on things that have nothing to do with Lofton, that Lofton will just fill that role too, you clearly have been making a statement about how overhyped Lofton is by D$. So the oh what happened to Lofton at RB3 comment was just more of the same and obviously ignoring what the outcome the staff was actually wanting was... IN MY OPINION.

How many RB's had they targeted before ChaMar Brown???

How many RB's had they offered & had visted before ChaMar Brown?

Was ChaMar Brown someone they targeted by in the Winter Portal???

What I think and what the staff does are two completely different things.

Yes I felt we needed to add another RB via Portal from day 1, but in what way was that reflective of how the staff acted until literally a few days ago?

What indicators were there that guaranteed they were pursuing another RB in the time frame of late December - up until til a week ago?

Didn’t end up visiting, but we were just in contact with Robinson, that RB from Georgia

I’m a little confused why you’re crying so much. We needed another running back, and we got one better than we expected. What’s there to complain about? Lofton will still see caries, but we couldn’t go into the season with him as our RB3. He’s too big of a receiving threat. Also, Imagine if Fletcher or Lyle got hurt - he’d then be a permanent RB

Unfortunately there isn't a portal offer tracker like there is out of HS. But The former UGA Rb Robinson in the portal was brought up here as a guy we looked into. This dude. I Think I recall one of the Cal RBs as having been contacted or the NCSt Rb or something. Plus Charmar Brown was talked about like 2 weeks ago.

Why does winter portal matter, when this is about spring portal? What did we enter spring portal period as wanting to add. That's what matters, and RB was on that list. TE never was discussed or mentioned on a podcast like one time from what I recall. I know for **** sure I remember D$ stating on multiple podcasts that depth RB was a desired add. But I thought we were also rumored to have been in contact with a few RBs over winter anyways like Bothwell, Star Thomas, CJ Donaldson...

What you think and what the staff DOES may be very different. But that could very well be as much or more about whether the PLAN succeeds or fails. Not whether that was the goal.... Which is why I'm saying the goal very obviously has been to add another RB and Lofton to be TE1.

Nobody's crying. I'm responding to Calinative because he's presumed that I knew what the staff plan was at RB all along, when that's not even remotely possible.

I've been in favor of us adding another RB since December, that sentiment was met with quite a bit of pushback & the narrative was that Lofton was going to be RB3.

So up until 2 days ago, it was not a sure-thing that we were bringing in another RB.

So I asked D$, I thought Lofton was supposed to be RB3 (which is something he's stated all Spring) & he himself said he thought that was going to be the plan.

And now, I'm asking for evidence to support the claim that it was ALWAYS in the cards that we were going to add another RB via Portal, because before ChaMar Brown, there simply wasn't anyone that the staff offered or hosted for a visit over the span of 4 months.

But somehow, I knew all along that they were going to add another RB.

Now that you're all caught up, do you understand the context of the conversation now, or do I need to explain it again using finger puppets?
