You said it. This year we need guys that can run since Mario will likely split carries amongst 6 RBs

You've been vocal about that, I honestly don't hate it. My whole life I was one of those "you need to give your back every carry so he can get into the flow of the game" people, and I still somewhat believe it. But these dudes drop like flies. I have zero data to back this up and don't care to dig into it but I'd bet money RBs are the most injured position in the sport. Obviously in the NFL we know how they go through them like water.

No back missed a single game last season, if I remember correctly? That just doesn't happen. So, if he wants to split it between a 1A, 1B, 2, and 3, if it keeps all 4 of them healthy for 12+ games, I don't care.

Remember, they gave Martinez 3 carries in the entire Ball State game, and then only 11 against USF the next week, and 3 of those were from the one-yard line in goal line. I don't think it was for any reason other than to keep him fresh for the whole year.

If we had a kid who was CLEARLY superior, like head and shoulders better than the others, for one I don't think he'd break it down like he has but if he did, I'd be out for blood. I don't think that's the situation here, we have relatively equivalent backs, I'm good with them rotating a lot if they believe it keeps them all on the field and out of the training room. 2024 Martinez was better than Fletcher, but it wasn't some egregious difference where we were significantly worse when Fletcher was in.

I’m just being a bitter hoe about it don’t mind me

You don’t need to have been a running back in the pros to understand that playing the position is about rhythm and the predetermined snaps for running backs since Mario got here drives me absolutely ******* nuts

I hear you. I don't love it either, and obviously you can't predict injuries, but if you told me I gotta pick this split or one of them gets hurt, it's a no-brainer.

When you dig into the #s they aren't very impressive considering he played for the best FCS team:

He was pretty unproductive against their tougher opponents.

I had finally let go of the Damien Martinez stuff and the Field Yates had to give me a middle finger

Appreciate yall letting me vent ill blame it on the preworkout today

I just ask that Miami's RB's do three things. Pick up the blitz, hold onto the ball and fall forward. If this guy does these three things he will be successful behind this line. Go get em young man! Welcome to the U!

When you take a step back and realize he was a redshirt freshman, that's pretty **** good. Lot of factors go into running the ball effectively. Not saying he will ever start here but's a great addition as a 3rd or 4th string RB.
