FSU is a trash heap, and Norvell is trying to treat P5 players like he did Memphis players. It's a different ballgame when you're coaching guys who got wined and dined and recruited by all the super powers. That's where some of these G5 coaches, who were viewed as wunderkinds at that level, fail at the marquee P5 level.

Exactly it’s the same thing some coach’s struggle with when they go from college to pros.

And don’t understand how the player/coach dynamic changes with these caliber of players.

Norvell describes this as a transitional experience with new team. Says he understood his mistake re: Marvin Wilson incident. Wants to let players use social media platform and express their voice. Today's issue, "it is a separate issue and I feel very confident with how we operate."


Norvell asked where the disconnect is coming from: Norvell said there will be follow up conversations to get a better understanding of why this happened today.

One day at a time, live and learn and work towards answers.

Seems to be a group of players who just doesn't like or respect Norvell.

Norvell is a good offensive mind but is in way over his head.

My guess is he will average 8-9 wins the next 3 years, go 0-9 vs Miami, Clemsons and Florida and have a roster with the talent Equivalent of VaTech.

No way in **** does he win 8-9 games a year and go 0-9 against those three. 0-9 against the better teams more than likely means he's, probably, hovering around .500 total. He'll still lose to other ACC teams as well. If he's good enough to beat everyone but Miami, UF and Clemson, it means he's good enough to beat one of the big three a time or two. I just don't see him fixing that dumpster fire. It's been a cesspool far too long.

There are so many moving parts involving the 3 remaining power 5 conferences and what is happening at FSU is just one of them. Information from conference experts on the virus changes hourly and to assume all 3 conferences play is wishful thinking. Just an opinion so don’t sharpen the knives! But when the info started going the wrong way in the Midwest, it was over and there are some pretty impressive med schools in the conference. Think about this Iowa State is playing as of now, Iowa not. Figure that out.

Norvell is a perfect storm of small-time-hero/out-of-his-depth-on-big-stage mixed in with a dose of "says-all-the-wrong-things-but-very-confidently" and "too-full-of-himself-to-learn-from-his-mistakes".
