noles HATE this Norvell character.

And?

If only we had someone in this country who could invoke the Defense Production Act and get these tests mass-produced and distributed...
at worst they are like 125 a pop. the NCAA could subsidize the testing. they must make 100's of millions of dollars from football. there is no reason these tests should cost that much though if the federal government did their job.

Yeah, the NCAA has been making huge money for decades. Maybe it's all in the "rainy day fund". Well, motherfvckers, we're in a motherfvcking DELUGE right now.

I wonder where all that money will go once the NCAA falls apart?

I said this in another thread, but it bears repeating.

If the NCAA were EVER to justify its miserable existence, it would act now to create an info-sharing consortium among all the colleges and universities with med schools and/or lab capacities. They would find a way to in-source the manufacture of tests and the rapid testing of the samples.

Probably won't happen. But let's not forget, the ORIGINAL purpose of CONFERENCES was not for football and hoops, it was to share educational resources.

The cost and availability of testing shouldn't be an issue, especially for schools with labs. Sports teams negotiate with labs all the time for drug testing and the like. There's no reason this couldn't be done the same way.
