Not hyperbole--they are imploding to levels not seen since maybe ever for a former power program. Who has fallen more? Not Nebraska or Pitt even. This collapse has no comparison in recent memory. Insane
MIGHT?!?!?!I think we see a mid season firing next year.. Cornrows Mike might figure out how to be even worse than the last 2 years.
Oh “their” real mad!
It's absolutely nuts. Our rivalry is basically cooked. They are a ******* directional schools now. They are in a uniquely shlty place with a coach who cannot acquire talent, no money to acquire talent or a coach who can, a huge buyout making the former problems worse, and high debt further exasperating all of the other issues.
While we have seen a similar show play out down here, we were never as bad as they are right now. Think about how hard Mario has had to work just to get us where we are now. Even with the right hire and their administration aligned, it will be years before they can compete at a high level again.
Is that the lab under Neyland? Didn't know they had another university that plays football under there...What is a "UT Permian Basin"? Sounds like a site where people dig up dinosaur bones.
It's not even close man: FSU today. They are BROKE and locked into decades of crippling debt. I honestly don't know how (if) they ever recover with so much competition. My guy tells me they are going to end up being THE example of the once-great program that ****ed itself into oblivion by reckless, short-sighted management; their "brand" has become way more of a joke than ours ever did as they don't have a comparable NFL clout as a saving grace--they are instead too much of a weird hobogoblin copy pasta of Georgia and Miami. Here’s a question. Which program was in more dire straits?
Miami 2011-2012 with a credible threat of an NCAA death penalty or potentially a multi year bowl ban and significant loss of scholarships
Florida State today
In hindsight, HRS--especially since the reno--has been a GREAT blessing: we have access to a GREAT, world class stadium, and didn't have to pay to build it, nor renovate it--nor even pay for its upkeep! One benefit of playing in our rented stadium is we aren't going to be on the hook for renovations to it. We may have our rent increased but still nowhere near those levels.
Texas, not TennesseeIs that the lab under Neyland? Didn't know they had another university that plays football under there...
AhTexas, not Tennessee
It has never been this wide--not even in '01.Been a minute since the gulf between us and them has been this wide
I still appreciated your joke!
Gotta bring some humor to this sad but unbelievably funny thread! I would love to laugh, but having been through what we have, I don't want to test fate any time soon! Cannot believe the complete and utter implosion--on every level of their program--I am reading about. It's so morbid--are they still our rival? It's hard to see them keeping it close (or winning more than one or two games for that matter) for the next many years.I still appreciated your joke!
Eh, for now they are. We’ve had our down years too. I think it would have to take more than just two years for the rivalry to end.Gotta bring some humor to this sad but unbelievably funny thread!
