That’s alright. I met the Olsen family at the Orange Bowl and told a young Kevin that I was looking forward to seeing him play for Miami too.

I understand that fans want Miami to have their own stadium but I don’t think most fans understand the costs and how long it would take to actually start turning a profit. Most college stadiums are ancient and were built when construction prices were much cheaper than today. FSU’s renovation is setting them back financially for years. Imagine how strapped the UM athletic department would be if they had to purchase outrageously expensive Miami property and build a multi billion dollar facility on it? Maybe it would start to pay off in 2048.

I'm so over it. Perfectly content with HRS.
 
Remember they came into the season saying we would fall off because it was a 1 man team with Cam and portal players last season. Now its we are loaded and cant win the ACC. Purgatory for a decade atleast incoming. U can check teams trajectory and ours is clear. The roster is getting better, overall. We played them and made them look like a JV team for 3 and a half quarters. Ohio and Texas played, it was 14-7. Ohio and Indiana played it was 13-10. Ohio at home and neutral site. We win 10-3 on the road in an elimination game and we supposed to feel bad. Lol ok.

I once did an analysis of how much Texas has spent renovating their stadium over the years; it’s hundreds of millions of dollars. That’s the challenge with an on campus stadium.

If they truly do fall off a cliff and become similar to a directional school in terms of budget, recruiting, and they go over a decade or more without beating us, then maybe it’s up for discussion. But it’s a bit premature for that now. Definitely looks like it could be heading that way though.

Florida State could be brought back in relatively quick fashion (3 years) under the appropriate circumstances. They would need their own version of Mario and the funding to primarily retain their top players as well as add key portal talents.

They really are the most delusional fans ever. Pumping their chests out over a higher YPC average.....how many of those yards came vs back to back FCA teams? Same with the rest of their offensive production. Their players are jumping ship, and the administration has done everybody but come out and say they are punting on the 26 season. Hate to see it

We beat ND, T atm, all of the Florida major schools in the same year and we beat nobody?! Pitt was ranked and contending for an ACC ship and spanked them at home.
 
Its called cope. This is not even the final product. Players wins games, they should know cuz Jimbo is a certified bum and he won with them. Couldn't do anything in Aggie land, and that shows u, stacking in Florida is a different animal to doing it in any other state unless u just got a crazy machine like Bama and Ohio

Think of it this way.

Joe Robbie Stadium opened in 1987, just thirty two years ago.

2006 (18 years old): $318M ($250M unadjusted for inflation) renovation
2015 (28 years old): $379M ($350M unadjusted for inflation)renovation

So in the last 32 years, almost $700M was spent renovating Hard Rock Stadium. That's money that would have had to come from the University of Miami if it was an on campus stadium.

Granted, the renovations were driven by the desire to keep Miami in contention as a Super Bowl host site. So let's look at the Texas Longhorns, which have an on-campus stadium. Dollars listed are adjusted for inflation:

1923: $4.7M Initial cost for 27,000 seat stadium
1927: $1.8M Seating capacity raised to 40,500
1948: $15.0M Seating capacity raised to 60,000
1955: $1.9M light towers added
1971: (?) Upper deck added, capacity raised to 77,809
1986: $16.4M Athletic center added to south end of stadium
1998: (?) Upper deck added to east end of stadium
2005: $19.7M renovations
2006: $10.2M audio/visual improvements
2007: $185.3M expansion project
2009: $32.3M rebuild of Athletic Center
2013: $68.3M renovation to basement of north end zone
2019: $175.0M south end zone expansion
