He retired. You don’t pay someone the remainder of their contract when they resign. Did he give the school back the money he was paid during his last season?MR could have set us back a long ways if he wasn’t as generous as he was giving back the money that was owed. We’d of been looking at HS coaches .

Ill just say is it worth it?He has generational wealth. I got your point about compromising on the buyout to walk away. But 25% of 60M is 15M. Why give that up. It is guaranteed unless he pulls a Michigan HC or something similar or worse.
Off Topic, but these contracts are killing programs left and right. Imagine if Lane starts off slow at LSU. Matt Campbell was 72-55 overall and 50-40 in conference at Iowa State. Imagine if he does that at Penn State. They are a dead program for 10 years.. FSU is just leading the way where others will follow ... One can only hope.
Mark Richt is one of the few genuine people of this earth. He gave back the contract extension when 99.9% of people would’ve told Miami to go **** themselvesHe retired. Wow! Even Randy caught a stray!!!
El Nie!Sounds like what they call the spot between a woman’s ****** and her vag. UT Perineum Basin.
This might be worse than the golden era . They’re going to be down for a long timeAl Golden thinks next year FSU could be the most toxic coaching environment ever
UT Permian Basin is wild.
I’m sure it’s a fine school with good folks but holy **** what a terrible (and hysterical) look for fsu.
It's comical how bad FSU has gotten considering the inherent advantages of being a Florida school and their history. Like you have to work to be that putrid.
Even in 2007 with Shannon when UVA blew us out 48-0 or 2022 in Mario's first year when MTSU was dropping bombs on us every pass play, those teams would kick this FSU team's ***.
We were a **** show for not “caring” from the admin down, not taking the program seriously.
FSU has just run there’s into the ground.
Easily the worst movie I've ever seen all the way through.
Hard to call a guy that earned an NFL pension a bad take.I remember when we took a DB, Dee Delaney, from Citadel as a grad transfer. Do NOT miss those days
I so appreciate you keeping the count in both the Nole and Gator threads!FIFTEEN.
Because he didn't want to fire his son.Depends on the wording of the contract. If you hire a 90 year old and there is "retirement" offset language, sure.
But I think with Richt we did not anticipate that, thus his "giveback" of the remaining two years was voluntary and generous.
That is a bit different from the concept that if he had been REQUIRED to step down early over a health issue, then the rest of the contract paid out to him would likely have been covered by insurance.
