I think the portal has really ****ed with people's minds. People are really warped into thinking every team has multiple 1000 yard receivers or something. I'm not sure what's going on, but this is still college football.
Isn't Texas supposed to be awesome this year? Arch Manning going #1 overall?
He threw for 939 yards last year, 800 of those coming against Mississippi State, UTSA and Louisiana-Monroe. But OK, I'll give you that he's awesome.
Gunnar Helm led Texas in catches last year. He's now on the Tennessee Titans, which last I checked, were not located in Austin.
Matthew Golden was 2nd, and led the team in yards and touchdowns. Pretty sure Green Bay, Wisconsin isn't in Texas.
Isaiah Bond was 3rd on the team in yards. He's Gone....Isaiah Gone. (
@JamesQuall, set up the electric chair, please)
So next up are Ryan Wingo and DeAndre Moore. Promising prospects, for sure. Moore was lower ranked than both Jojo and Carr. He's got 39 catches in two seasons.
You know who Texas got in the portal at WR? Emmett Mosely, a 3-star kid from Stanford who this board would yell "MID" at the top of their lungs if we took (although I think he's a pretty good player tbh).
Again, just another example of the landscape of college football. Big, bad Texas, they're gonna be amazing this year......they had 8 kids with over 200 yards receiving last year, and 5 of them are gone. They'll probably still be really good, because they recruit and coach well. We need to do the same, and if we don't, then it doesn't matter who the **** we get out of the portal, we're cooked.
