You really can’t learn much from a Head Coaches first season.

History has told us that many times, yet we want to fly banners and fire everyone all the way down to the janitor.

The coaches who are considered the top in their field have all posted underwhelming records their first years

1.) Tom Herman - Texas 7-6
2.) Nick Saban (GOAT)
*Mich State- 7-6
*LSU - 8-4
*Alabama 7-6
3.) Pete Carol - USC 7-6
4.) Dabo Swinney- 8-5
5.) Jim Tressel - Ohio State -7-5
6.) Jimmy Johnson - UM - 8-5

The truth is almost every Head Coach flopped their first season after taking over a program on the decline. It didn’t matter how great they were or their experience level, the first year results were pretty much the same. Multiple losses with bad performances.

You have to ask yourself, why are you so upset if you know the first season of a new head coach is multiple losses? History has shown that time and time again

We have won the coastal once in 15 years and you guys were pencilling in a 10 and 11 win season? Bro if Kansas, Wake Forest or another school fans were upset with not winning 10 or 11 games you would laugh them off the Internet. The reality is harsh. Those schools have won just as many conference titles and divisions titles in the last 15 years as UM

For the first two years, the fans need to do their part in making the program look attractive. If after year two and their is no improvement then it’s ok to voice concerns and ask for a new situation

The only thing that will tell many's future is who he fires and who to replace. Make the right adjustments and the team should improve. No coaches fired many will be gone in year 2.
That is not true. No one has ever turned a program around who were on the decline for more than 8 years in one season. When you start to get into programs that were on the decline for 15 years, you are looking a stat were no coach in history has in one year.

These are just facts.

Great. So you listed all the ‘good’ scenarios but what about the other 10000 examples of coaching failure? Love the positivity but this coach shows no sign of vision, Hope, sincerity or humility. Those coaches you mentioned each showed anger at losing and also accepted responsibility.

I was a Diaz fan until I saw how he handled failure. Unacceptable

I agree with the logic, but this really is not Year 1 for Manny.

Whether fair or unfair, it's really Year 4 for him. He's a variation of the CMR era.

Plus, he hyped up this quick fix #TNM crap that I did not buy into and now he's selling the "rebuild". So he clearly was not thinking this was a Year 1 situation for him two months ago.

One final note, a lot of those coaches were able to build off their poor records with outstanding recruiting in Year 1-2. And don't let the recruiting ranking fool you, they're not getting it done this year in recruiting. You can't blame it all on bags, because there are way to many elite SoFla kids getting away again. They're not even trying to recrut some of these kids!

How many of those coaches were co-ordinators for the same team before the hire?

None of those coaches above showed any signs of turning around their programs. Losing 6 and 7 games showed their fan bases no hope. Their really is no bright spots in losing 6 or 7 games.

IMO the situations are not the same. Yes Manny is a first year head coach but he has been on this team knows the personnel and knew what plagued the team prior to him being the head coach. He has hired his friends to be on this garbage staff and it is starting to backfire. If he would actually hire a decent staff then he would get some more time. But I honestly think he is going to go down with this staff in the long run.

And is directly responsible for the lack of talent and depth on half of the roster.

Not one of those guys posted a losing record in their first year. Manny will be lucky to win 4 games his first year against a schedule of ****** teams. 10 of the teams don't even come close to the talent level Manny has. Kansas and WF don't have near the talent Miami has. The difference is, those teams are apparently being coached up while Miami is being coached down.

Actually this is the projected record of a rebuilding team that has been on the decline for 15 years

Mark Ritch was an experienced and accomplished coach. He stabilized the program his first season and was able to take a veteran team to almost an undefeated season in his second season

The third seasons are always tough because of graduation, depth issues, holes in Rosters and poor player evaluations from the previous staff. Last season we had virtually no depth and injuries to key players derailed any progress.

We are playing with about 73 scholarship players, with about 10 not being program changing athletes. Simply can’t win that way

The problem here is Manny has had a big talent advantage over every team we've lost to with the exception of Florida. Thats not the case with those coaches you listed above. Thats what concerns me
