No More Excuses: ACCCG or Bust

Don’t see the holes at WR from a depth standpoint. Production standpoint yes

don’t have depth issues at CB given blades situation but clear drop in experience after 1st 4. That’s frankly everywhere in the country

linebacker hasn’t been addressed from a instant impact standpoint. Looking for Huff, brooks to take their games to the next level. Year 3 for brooks and year 2 for Huff as a full participant
I guess my issue is more or less, we don't know what we don't know, particularly at WR with the young guys. Smith looks to be the one taking strides to take some PT. Kind of a head scratcher to not see anyone step up and take snaps from 6 and 8 all year. That's why I went with WR. The recruiting sites say there is talent, but no1 can get on the field and prove it.

I guess I'll be the mope. Poorly mismanaged rosters for years don't just magically become whole because of some great coaching hires. We still have depth issues at WR, LB and CB. Excited yes, but cautiously optimistic that this was another correct step up the mountain. Still need an infusion of players to make some cot **** plays and not be told such and such was whatever star coming out of HS.

Real talk...I don't think you're moping. We do have some depth issues and have been mismanaged for a while. We all know it. Us fans are conditioned for it.

But I am also cautiously optimistic. For the first time in a long (LONG) time, we might actually have a staff that coaches our dudes up and gets the most out of our players. We have perennially done 'less with more' while getting kicked around by teams with clearly less talent.

Could this staff actually out-scheme an opponent and utilize our player's strengths?? If so, we're playing in charlotte. But hopefully the former ends this year and we consistently beat opponents we're supposed to and play up to to the ones who are better than us.

Despite what anyone feels; whether U’re classified as a “mope” or “slurper”, we all gotta agree there is no more excuses left not to win 10+ games w/ a trip to the ACCCG this yr.

@DMoney highlighted how age & experience plays a big role in championship level football. I agree; Manny did a gr8 job in keeping majority of the kids from either prematurely transferring or seeking NFL pasturage.

@Dwinstitles highlighted for several yrs about how recruiting & stars matter. Well, we have some real blue chips on this squad

@Cribby highlighted the importance of a complete staff; & frankly, this is the best staff we’ve had in yrs. Kudos to Manny; highly sought after guys coming from big time programs.

We’ve all talked about continuity; well, this is the first time in a minute where the offensive guys are going to play in the same system & the defensive system has been around for 6 yrs.

We just very well might lose to Bama; that’s completely inconsequential in regards to winning 10+ games & winning this division. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to play the Atlantic Champ this season in the title game. I don’t think it’s too much to be vying for at least a NY6 bowl game.

We have all the ingredients:
-Experience
-Talent
-Coaching Staff
-Continuity
-Favorable Schedule

If we don’t accomplish this now, in yr 3 w/ all we have going, then whether U’re a mope or a slurp, we should all feel very cheated & disappointed. No excuses this time, fellas.
Anyone who downvotes this post by my man Relly is a ******* idiot and a ******* troll and deserves to be banned on sight. Off with their heads! Great post Relly, couldn’t agree more my friend.

That would have been last year.

We tend to get stuck in this "King is our only hope" mindset. We're **** lucky he's coming back, but we need to keep an eye toward the future and not chalk up the QBs we recruit as busts just because they signed with us. We also have TVD and Garcia. TVD has already had a year with Lashlee and should be able to play if needed. Garcia will have spring and fall to get the system. We'll know more after spring, but wouldn't it be nice to find out that one of those two is nipping at King's heels?
That would be pretty ******* cool, no doubt!

Yeah, we're long overdue for catching lightening in a bottle with a young QB who steps in, gets a chance and puts together a he of a season.

I've said, we need a QB not afraid of success - come in like King did; no spring, new system, new staff but took the keys and drove the offense.

@Rellyrell you see how fast people hopped out with the bulletproof vest on making excuses right away?
Lol.

You’re 100% right though, there are no excuses idgaf what parameters people wanna set up to let Manny off the hook, at the end of the day he has no more options left to blame anything on, it’s win or bust this season.

If we don’t win the coastal now, we’re never going to win it in his tenure, we have more than enough to go on a run this season & win 10/11 games.

People need to take the training wheels off & stop babying Manny, he’s a Head ****** Coach of one of the most recognizable brands & top 30 profitable programs in the nation, THE U! If he can’t handle the heat, step aside & let someone else do it.

Winners win, losers make excuses for why they can’t win. So ****** win or be an excuse maker, the choice is simple.
Not making any excuses, just pointing out the questions that are connected to this team. All facts. If Manny can't win then be my guest in firing him. Losing to FIU, LA Tech, and UNC by 30+ points all justify termination. I just don't plan on setting myself up for disappointed. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Everyone should be able to agree that the acc coastal should have been the minimum before we made these changes. King coming back solidified those expectations for me

North Carolina is still going to be a difficult team to face. Yeah they lost the RB Duo but they have been stacking recruiting classes and landed that Tennessee RB whose a very good starter. It will be Sam Howell last season before he become a Top 10 pick in the NFL if not #1 Overall. All roads to charlotte go through North Carolina, we got to find a way to overcome them

Termination for two year one losses and one bad year two loss? Who actually thinks like this?

Go away doofus.

I have zero expectations for the first game.
Anything is possible but highly unlikely.
After that game 10+ games w/ a trip to the ACCCG or bust.
