That same study says that there are 122 Metro Miami players in the NFL, compared to 70 from Metro Atlanta. Metro Miami and Metro Atlanta both have about 6 million people. That's about 75% more players with the same population. And in terms of Pro Bowlers, it's domination.

Problem is you are counting the history that can span up to 15 years. It doesn't show the steady narrowing of the gap which the story I linked indicates. Simply put teams are winning without players from Miami and those players are making it to the NFL. I am not saying we still shouldn't recruit south Florida and most of our players shouldn't come from there but the idea that these players are somehow better off due to the culture of Miami and the gap is widening is just plane wrong.

Maybe we have different interpretations on what the best college player looks like, but I would define it as a player that gives his team the best chance to win and produces the numbers to prove this. If Miami would have had a college Gibson instead of Coley then Miami would have had a better chance to win more games.

You have to stop looking at numbers so much. Sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story. Just because someone has more yards or tds doesn't make him the better player.

You're changing the argument. You claimed that kids in Miami play at some different, elite level than anywhere else in the country. In five years of recruiting, the four best teams in the country ended up with 11 total players from South Florida. That's 20 recruiting classes, and 11 total players.

You need to stick with "most players", because that's how we end up seeing Miami kids playing at Western Kentucky and Toledo. Different level? None of the elite programs seem to believe that.

Do the top 4 teams have a lot of South Florida players? No. But they spend a ton of money trying to acquire them. And a couple of bama's most impactful offensive players over the last 5 years have been South Florida guys.

You don't need to have a roster full of South Florida players to have a championship team, but that does nothing to change the fact that the most and the best players overall come from South Florida.

And no other area has intense Pop Warner football?

Perhaps the reason for Pop Warner success in Miami is the talent level? Chicken or the egg? I think there is a physiological element to go with the psychological one. I'm thinking it's a perfect storm of several factors, including Pop Warner.

It's not just south florida, it's the entire state of florida. Look at a guy like khalil mack. He wound up at buffalo and became a top 5 pick and is one of the best young pass rushers in the nfl. Paxton lynch at memphis is from florida and now many believe he is the best qb in the draft. Those are guys that didn't have offers from anybody.

The #1 offensive and defensive lineman prospects in the upcoming draft are from florida. Also vh3 will be one of the top 2 cb taken in the draft. Henry just won the heisman and he is from florida.

The talent in florida overall and not just the highly ranked guys is crazy.
