He said “you don’t know manny. He’s ruthless and doesn’t care about being diplomatic.”

when a fired coach is paid his salary it typically works like the new job pays market and the old job pays difference up to old salary. So, why take Temple when you will be paid the same regardless? He will decide what job he takes based on how he beats $3M+ annually. That isnt Temple or Ok St

From all accounts, Fedora seems to be the #1 target on Diaz's list. Whether Fedora takes Miami OC over other open jobs (including HC at Toledo) is anybody's guess. I don't know how much Temple is willing to pay for a HC but I'm guessing it will be more than what Miami would pay for OC. If Fedora is looking for the highest paying job.......well.

Interesting points. Don’t think Larry wants to go down to Toledo’s level but if Temple called perhaps he would entertain the discussion. For our chances I’m hoping Fedora has a bigger ego....which means he’ll come here if only to set himself up for better deals down the road after he turns the Canes into a well oiled killing machine.

We need to offer Fedora $2.5m, that should keep all other schools away.

Assuming you are joking, is it inconceivable that we could actually offer him around 1.5? It would be worth it imo.

That might be about Diaz's salary. I don't think the OC will be making the same as the HC. My guess is 1.8 mil tops (also happens to be twice Kiffins salary FWIW).

Also of note, Lincoln Riley just re-upped at Oklahoma. That means Bedenbaugh is stuck not calling plays for several more years. Riley ain't going anywhere and never giving up playcalling.

Fedora is AT BEST a 2 year rental. Get Bedenbaugh in, same position as at Oklahoma ( non playcalling co-OC/OL coach), give him ironclad, irrevocable written guarantee that he is THE OC as soon as Fedora leaves. Guaranteed he'll find that more attractive than 4 more years of not calling plays. Making 560k now, worth at least 800k for top 5 OL coach in CFB. "Realistic" salary range would be 1.4-1.6 mil for Fedora, 800k-1 mil for Bedenbaugh. No way he gets 2 mil plus.

Fedora+Bedenbaugh= the best 1-2 punch in CFB

Would make him the highest paid assistant in college football with Aranda and over $1 million more than next closest OC.

Maybe, but with UNC covering the difference, you got to do something to entice him to being a coordinator.

Randy Shannon could have gone lots of places, but wanted to stay in Florida and accepted a 333k/yr salary from UCF since UF is paying him 1.4 mil through 2020. Fedora got a 12 million dollar buyout (3 mil for each year on his contract). Since Diaz appears to have mad respect for Fedora, maybe he does it for a reasonable fee since he already is getting paid bigtime, just so he can win rebuild rep as OC guru, win the ACC, then land another bigtime P5 job in 2020.
