He said “you don’t know manny. He’s ruthless and doesn’t care about being diplomatic.”
Said manny wants to hang 50 on everyone. Said he hates uf more than anything and wants to win by 100.

I'm sure they're working hard so they can make the announcement tonight so it hits the ESPN ticker during the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl national tv audience.

Guy named Lou Hernandez. Here's his bio, FWIW:

Lou Hernandez is in his sixth season as North Carolina’s head football strength and conditioning coach. During his tenure in Chapel Hill, Hernandez has helped the Tar Heels become bigger, stronger and faster with his workout philosophy and techniques. Over the last six years, an average of 45 student-athletes per season have power cleaned 308 pounds or more, one of the many quantitative measurements used in Hernandez’s program.

Carolina players have consistently proven their training abilities at the NFL combine workouts leading up to the NFL Draft. In 2017, Logan was the fastest tailback at the event, running the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds. In 2013 center Russell Bodine, now with the Cincinnati Bengals, had the most bench press reps (42) of any player, a mark achieved by only 15 players previously. Bodine also had one of the top five vertical jumps for an offensive lineman. Tre Boston was among the top safeties in bench and 40-yard dash, while defensive end Kareem Martin had the best broad jump of any lineman. Boston was a third-round pick of the Carolina Panthers.

Hernandez helped develop tight end Eric Ebron into a first-team All-America and a first-round draft pick. Ebron had the second fastest time in the 40-yard dash of any tight end at the NFL Combine and the third-best broad jump. He set ACC records for a tight end in receptions and receiving yards in 2013. Ebron was selected No. 10 overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Hernandez helped train five first-round NFL Draft picks in Champaign, including Rashard Mendenhall (Pittsburgh) in 2008, Vontae Davis (Miami) in 2009, Corey Liuget (San Diego) in 2011 and Whitney Mercilus (Houston) and A.J. Jenkins (San Francisco) in 2012.

Hernandez worked for three seasons at Florida as the assistant director of strength and conditioning from 2002-04. He moved to Florida after serving on the New York Jets staff. Prior to his one-year stint with the Jets, Hernandez spent 10 years at the University of Houston, including five years as the director of the program.

Won’t happen. Too many people upset with Hispanics on staff.

For a program since about the osu game that has continually taken 2 backward steps for every forward one, Diaz has taken 2 forward steps. He's fired the right guys and if true, seemingly hired the right ones.

Now go get some beast recruiters on staff and salvage this class.

We absolutely must recruit better, but I dont think Manny is going to hire anybody who is a recruiter first. Think hes going after coaches that are ruthless and smart. He strikes me as a guy that believes that if we win big with what we got, the product will recruit itself. Im not saying theres coaches out there that cant do both. But I dont think will be hiring any more Hartleys. It sucks for us recruiting junkies, but just be paitient. When the whole team takes on the identity that the defense showed, players will want to come.

Good thoughts- i don’t disagree. It’ll be interesting to see who the staff is filled up with.

You left this part off:
A native of Alice, Texas, Hernandez earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Houston in 1992 and his master’s degree in exercise and health-related fitness from Houston in 1994. Hernandez is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

1. 10 years at Houston, 5 years as director, 1 year with the Jets, 3 seasons at Florida as assistant director (tough gig), 7 years at Illinois as director, and 6 seasons as UNC's head strength coach
2. BS and MS in Exercise Science, member of the NSCA (Probably as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist)

Those are good signs. I don't particularly care about the details of individual athletes' accolades, but he has the educational background and experience running programs that would be desired. If Fedora wanted to bring this guy I'd be happy with it.

I don’t think people are going to understand the scope of Manny’s ambition until they see the staff fill out. He’s not going after ******* Florida or the **** Noles. He wants to build a team that can beat Clemson AND Alabama on neutral ground and do it convincingly.

Manny is after Nick Saban.

I’m hard.
