NFL Draft Discussion Thread

I am hoping like **** Miami takes Corn in rnd 3. He will play a lot. Our secondary outside of a recovering Jones is a mess.
At 22, with what was there, I was hoping they'd grab Foster or Conley. I do understand the need to find someone to supplant 35 year old Wake. Could have gotten a similar (not exact) risk/reward with some later round DEs and used the #22 overall for a better risk/reward value. Oh well.

I'm willing to bet we'll trade up for lamp or we're staying put and probably going LB.

I don't see corn being drafted by the fins, he doesn't fit their prototype or what they do...but hey Evan Engram was selected over David Njoku, you don't ever know what these guys are thinking
Not being sarcastic when I ask: what's the Dolphins' prototype?

Oddly, most of Peppers' big plays came on returns. But Rd1 is too high for a kick returner not named Devon Hester.

Similar to the bengals at CB while Vance was there.

Long guys who are well rounded in coverage but need to excel in press, tackle well(even though they didn't do that particularly well lol), well disciplined, and aren't afraid to make plays on the ball....basically guys like Kevin King.

Corn actually does all those well but he isn't long and because of that he'll probably struggle in press coverage which the Fins do a lot of

Got it. Vance may have a world of potential (I have no idea), but in his lone year calling defensive plays, didn't we have something like the 29th defense in the league and were bottom half in points allowed? Being a good salesman may help climbing the corporate ladder, but there comes a point where you have to produce. As it relates to our convo, having prototypes without being flexible enough to weigh exceptions is mostly dumb. For example, Coach Kul likes a certain style of DE and DT, but seems to consistently find players outside and fit them in.

I have to say, the Browns quite possibly had their best draft in 40 years, and that was just the first round.

**** so steelers was going to select David njoku with their first picked but the browns jumped in front of them. **** that would have been a perfect situation for him...

I'm still surprised the Browns had the first round they did. They looked like a team actually trying to improve.

Lebron will post a video shortly taking credit for advising them throughout the process

Then go for Conley (assuming homework done). The rape charges are apparently BS. The point is Charles Harris may or may not be a good player as a light edge rusher. There are at least 4-5 other DEs in that same boat. ****, you read through and watch some of the stuff on the FAU defensive end, Hendrickson, and they sound somewhat similar. Except that kid is projected as a 4th round pick. Now, Harris might be better, but the point is to rock as much value as possible from the draft, no?

I would have been OK with a corner too. Not interested in Reuben Foster or Jabrill Peppers. Peppers looks good against the run but his ball skills are pathetic. Dude has 1 career interception. By contrast, that's 8 less than Rayshawn Jenkins.
Not a fan of drafting specialists in R1 and, at least right now, that's how I view Peppers. Weirdly, he's not even elite at any particularly specialty. Just does a lot of stuff well. Media wants to blow him up, though. We disagree on Foster. Unless his shoulders fall apart, I think he's a solid starter for a while.

If someone can tell me what position he's projected to be a starter at, I'd appreciate.

Is he a full time safety? Converted to linebacker? Or is he mainly a return guy? Where and how is he going to be used, for real.

All three dude, the kid doesn't need a position.

Just tell him where he's lining up in certain packages and let him make plays

Not certain that strategy is as applicable in the NFL. The defenses and schemes are generally more complicated and the offensive vs defensive talent is also more narrow. There haven't been a ton of these defensive specialists without a true position, or one they play at least 75% of the time.

I told y'all Brad Kaaya ain't getting drafted... If he does its 6th or 7th rd. Looks like NFL teams think there are a lot of other qbs that are better smh ****.

Love what my Giants are doing so far.

Would have liked to have seen Njoku but Engram seems to have beter hands and breakaway speed.

Assuming everyone is healthy there really isn't going to be a Defensive backfield that could keep up with all the weapons Eli has to throw to this upcoming season.
Just need to draft a RB ASAP.

Got a QB that some thought could be a 1st round talent.

Defensively we got a DT who should be ready for playing time. Just need some LBs now for depth.

Kaaya's decision looking bad so far, think he will probably go in the 4th, not a round you leave early for IMO.

Did we get a blindside Tackle?
