NFL Draft Discussion Thread

I liked the Dolphins pick. People screaming for Reuben Foster but I'm not buying into a player so shot up with pain killers and roids by the Bama staff. The also signed Laurence Timmons to play along side Kiko Alonso and drafting a third linebacker in a league that plays nickel more than 50% of the time isn't productive. The Dolphins DEs are old and I'm not crazy about counting on Cam Wake playing at this level much longer. He's already 35.

Then go for Conley (assuming homework done). The rape charges are apparently BS. The point is Charles Harris may or may not be a good player as a light edge rusher. There are at least 4-5 other DEs in that same boat. ****, you read through and watch some of the stuff on the FAU defensive end, Hendrickson, and they sound somewhat similar. Except that kid is projected as a 4th round pick. Now, Harris might be better, but the point is to rock as much value as possible from the draft, no?

They said a street agent was telling nfl teams **** about cook.
While this is true, im not buying this as the sole reason for his slide. Cook aint a first rd talent.

He fumbles way too much, gets knicked up all the time, hes not a workhorse, and he has a questionable work ethic.

Second has always been his ceiling. Been saying hes not as good as we make him out to be.

There's definitely more to this slide than "character" issues. NFL teams will gladly overlook those if they believe in the player, and it turns out that nobody believes in cook that much. Draft is a funny thing. Cook out of the first round, Mitch fkn Trubisky taken #2 .

Kaaya to the giants/steelers or patriots at the end of the 2nd round imo
I think Deshone kizer goes 33rd overall. Webb soon after. That would leave peterman/kaaya/Dobbs next in line to be picked

Cleveland won the draft if all 3 1st round picks live up to expectations.

Definitely. I hate that jabril peppers pick. Would have picked Reuben Foster. They got 3 1st round picks and then got an extra one for the next draft

I would have been OK with a corner too. Not interested in Reuben Foster or Jabrill Peppers. Peppers looks good against the run but his ball skills are pathetic. Dude has 1 career interception. By contrast, that's 8 less than Rayshawn Jenkins.

I remember when I was laughed at for saying Watson was better than Kaaya.

He went on a good run and won the mnc. Arm talent wise I still think Felicia son is better. **** even decision making with the ball kayaa is better..but young Watson knows how to win games, mobile, and has intangibles about him. 1st Rd qualities

My Miami Lolphins still drafting bums.

Drafting a dude that will not start and we had a chance to solidify the middle of our defense with Foster.

Dumbest organization in sports.

Not a fan of drafting specialists in R1 and, at least right now, that's how I view Peppers. Weirdly, he's not even elite at any particularly specialty. Just does a lot of stuff well. Media wants to blow him up, though. We disagree on Foster. Unless his shoulders fall apart, I think he's a solid starter for a while.

If someone can tell me what position he's projected to be a starter at, I'd appreciate.

Is he a full time safety? Converted to linebacker? Or is he mainly a return guy? Where and how is he going to be used, for real.

All I've heard is "he's a sub-package guy and NFL teams are in their sub-packages 60% of the time." Cool, man. So why draft him in R1? "Remember, he'll also help you on special teams." I absolutely ******* hate that argument for R1 guys. It's a death knell reminding me of RB John Avery and WR Tedd Ginn. But, "just imagine all they can do for your KOR team!"

By the way, I know of another sub-package guy: Jermaine Grace. You can probably scoop him up as an undrafted Free agent. That's not a comparison of Peppers to Grace, but it's commentary on how NFL teams weirdly get caught up in emotion and hype instead of looking at the process as basic calculation of value. No more; no less. All in all, there were some people high on Peppers and most saw him as an R2ish guy.

LOL, nice to see the "football coach" is live and well.

Your the same guy that said Amari Burney is the best safety in the state right?

All three dude, the kid doesn't need a position.

Just tell him where he's lining up in certain packages and let him make plays

I am hoping like **** Miami takes Corn in rnd 3. He will play a lot. Our secondary outside of a recovering Jones is a mess.
At 22, with what was there, I was hoping they'd grab Foster or Conley. I do understand the need to find someone to supplant 35 year old Wake. Could have gotten a similar (not exact) risk/reward with some later round DEs and used the #22 overall for a better risk/reward value. Oh well.

I'm willing to bet we'll trade up for lamp or we're staying put and probably going LB.

I don't see corn being drafted by the fins, he doesn't fit their prototype or what they do...but hey Evan Engram was selected over David Njoku, you don't ever know what these guys are thinking
