NFL Combine Thread

I'm saying Redwine has the best career out of all these guys. Followed by Willis and Homer. Mike Jackson can have a decent career if he gets in the right scheme. Jaquan and Joe Jackson will be rotational guys.

I like Redwine a lot...thought I was ahead of the curve on him in comparison with JJ.

JJ was a better collegiate player, but its the pro game and we have to project. Pure safeties at JJ's size really face an uphill battle. He's just tiny for the position.

He sure looked athletic on a couple of those diving INTs he had last year.

Didn't expect him to put up numbers this good - always nice to see the players perform better than we think they can.

Told y'all about Redwine...He looked smoother than Mark Fields in His 1 on 1s at the Senior Bowl and Fields actually plays CB.

And I'm more surprised at Jackson's VJ than His 40, His explosion is a pleasant surprise.

I think Quan will be fine in run support. The problem will be covering the bigger tight ends.

A realistic, positive comparison for him is Ricardo Allen. He was 5'9 187, 4.61 at the combine and ended up as a quality safety.
Agreed 100%. I'm not concerned about a perceived lack of athleticism or even his ability to stop the run. He's shown the ability to play centerfield, in the box and nickle at Miami and never looked overmatched. He is going to get abused by 6'6" tight ends though. Versatility and production warrants a mid round pick. 4th or 5th round. Although his upside may be limited.

Post-Combine draft predictions:

Willis: 2nd
MJ: 3rd
Homer: 4th
Joe Jack: 5th
Redwine: 5th
Jaquan: 7th

UDFA: St Louis, Boulware, Tito, Dean

Will wager one (1) beer that Jhavonte Dean gets drafted...because some dopey team will think Jamel Dean is still on the board late and they just roll the dice on the J. Dean they have on their horizontal board.

Redwine with 4.45 40
10’10 broad jump
39 inch vertical
Legit athlete and tested as that before the season last year

Post combine predictions

Willis late 1st-2nd. Likely 2nd
Joe Jackson 2nd-3rd round
Michael jackson 2nd-3rd (tested off the charts and has elite size with good film).
Redwine 3rd round( good film tested very well)
Travis homer 3rd-4th round ( good film
And tested really well).
Jaquan Johnson 4th-5th round
Tyree St. Louis 6-7 round

Joe Jackson showed he was fluid at his weight in drills and he’s very productive with elite size.

Travis homer , Michael Jackson and Sheldrick Redwine really helped themselves imo.

Jaquan Johnson, would say he hurt himself with that 40 but everyone knew he was in the 4.6s before so if you loved him as a prospect before you still should imo but we will see.

Tyree St. Louis, good size and he had some hype coming into the year, people know about him. I think he gets drafted late.

Maybe no first rounders but we should have multiple 2nd-3rd round picks and maybe a few 4s

Overall I’m happy that a couple of our guys had great performances at the combine. Wish willis would have performed but it is what It is

People don't acknowledge that Joe Jack played with an injured arm this season I would i imagine he would have liked better this past season

Lol if you think St. Louis is getting drafted. That’s ****** rich.

A few interesting spidergraph comps from mockdraftable to Joe Jackson...he's got incomplete athletic testing for his profile...but...worth noting beyond the sea of players that never really played.

Malik Jackson
Michael Bennett

Interesting, to me.

Lol @ the @zzclowns @djnellz @DerekDohrman @Tee3000 reacting to my post without responding. Enlighten me what does Devin White do well on film besides run fast? He's awful at taking on blocks, he's slow processing and reacting, he has issues breaking down to tackle in space, he has issues in coverage. I bet you all thought Alec Ogletree was a beast too.

Off-ball LB is not a high value position anymore. Look at the contracts at that position. Defensive players who don't impact the passing game aren't at a premium. Devin White is a project at a low value position who's getting top 5 buzz. It's ludicrous. But sure neg away this post cause he ran fast and LSU shut down Richt's archaic PeeWee offense. I'm always down to add new people to the ignore list.

Man STFU..every players has flaws...but no one owes your dumb self an explanation after calling one of the most prolific LB’s in SEC history overrated....the same LB that has the freakish measurebles to match.

No one would even dare engage in that type of idiocy.

If you think he’s overrated then you should STFU from ever discussing football ever again.

.

He's overrated. I been saying it since b4 we played them last year. And he was very avg in that game and got outplayed by the Jacob Phillips kid.

I mean this is a UM board...we kinda know what hof /all pro level LB play looks like. He just doesnt flash for me...Very athletic kid. Not instinctual, doesnt sift through traffic that well. He's like an early rd guy 1st or 2nd...but they have this guy like he is some HOF level player...He's Jon Beason without the instincts. In this draft i like Devin Bush better quite easily. And i didnt like Bush coming out of high school at all.

He struggled getting off blocks in a couple of games(the one I saw Was vs Troy in 2017) but regardless he’s a physical freak and very explosive. He was recruited to LSU as a rb and then started his career there as a linebacker. For the Bucs I definitely would take him if we trade down a few spots
