NFL Combine Thread

Murray won't be there when we pick 13th. You tank the season for Tua and draft a guy like Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson because the defensive line is like Swiss cheese and they may be moving on from Robert Quinn, Andre Branch, Cam Wake, William Hayes, etc.
Fins missed their chance with Lamar last season. Kyler won't be around, but man, I'm telling you -- Lock and Haskins are no hard passes if they're available still. I like either as much as Tua.

Well, yes. Passing ability is far more important as a pro QB. A lot of guys playing QB in college are just athletes with strong arms. Still the trend is going more towards guys who can run a little bit even if they're not designed running plays. When I think "pocket passer" I think of guys like Brady, the Manning brothers, Dan Marino, Phillip Rivers, etc. Those guys were/are all great but the game is moving away from those types.
I agree a passer with accuracy will be there most successful. I guess the difference is I view a pocket passer as a Drew Brees or Aaron Rogers.

Mcshay has him as last pick in 1st round and Mel kiper said he is late first early second range.
I think Willis and Joe jack will be in round 2.
Hope so, I absolutely believe both are first round talents though but our prospects don’t seem to get as much “hype” as some of the other schools it seems

Yeah, I mentioned above I'm fine with Miami taking Lock at 13. But you absolutely do not trade up for Drew Lock.

The only hard pass in my opinion is Daniel Jones of the guys projected to go first round. I'd actually be pretty ****ed if Miami took Jones 13th.

I get why they weren't sure on Lamar even though I like him but I agree Locks and Haskins upside are intriguing enough but I can't lie I don't love either but I really do love Tua. In fact Haskins and Lock shouldn't leave the top 6 Haskins at worst the Giants and Lock is perfect with the Bucs who in no way should trust Jameis

Looks like Willis has "shrunk" right into the height range of our most dominant DTs.

Thought he was a bit taller than that, but I'd be surprised if he isn't drafted in the 1st round.

He should be a good one in the pros.

Shrunk how? UM listed him at 6’2

I don't know man. I'm a little gun shy on Jones as well but he did have a really good QB coach for 4 years. He should have solid fundamentals and understanding of defensive coverages.

Tannehill is better than Lock.

Hard pass on Lock as a R1 QB. Bottom 5 starter ceiling. Backup. I like Jones even less than Lock.

You either draft Murray or Haskins...or you trade for Foles at this point.

Very slow footed and not the type of QB I want in this day and age. I think he's a poor man's Joe Flacco, similar styles and whatnot.

I'd prefer Miami just skips a QB knowing they're going to have an awful year and be in position for Tua or Herbert next year.

Instead, they're talking about signing Trey Flowers in FA, keeping Ju'Wuan James, and basically continuing this mediocrity merry-go-round they've been on for 20 years. It's sickening.

Dude can move way better than Flacco. They brought up he rushed for **** near 200yds in 1 game this season. I'm not saying he's a traditional dual-threat guy but he can move. I prefer other QB's over him and hope that if we stay put w take a much better prospect.

I just can't. Cant spend 1st Rd much less 1st pick overall on 5'`10 QB.

And one that played in a system designed to put up huge numbers.

He may end up the GOAT but if I'm the GM, pass until late 1st or into 2nd RD.

Cash me outside.

How good is Cutcliffe though? At what point is using the Mannings as your only true qbs you've developed get tired and questioned as anybody could've made them? Either way hard pass on Jones he has a feel of a qb people look at his size and because he's a qb people try ro convince you of

If Daniel Jones runs a 4.75 40 or something like that then my opinion will change. He's the type of guy who plays slower than his time, I just was not impressed with him enough to want him 13th overall. I really just want Miami to full on tank.
