Doesn't seem to help Nike sell product. I'm just the messenger.
Those Nike's/Jordans are clean. Adidas in general has some awesome colorways which tend to be clean. Those Adidas kicks are too flashy for me but also not sure why anyone would buy a pair of EVO SL as a comfort shoe. That's a high performance runner that should be used for training/racing only. Adidas could just go with all white and green 3 stripes and keep it clean. Dropset Pro would be much better.
I don't ever pay $160 for runners. That's just dumb. It's a product with a 3-6 month life. I buy whatever brand I can find on sale and have fun experimenting.
A good pair of runners are PERFECT for casual use. Why? Because for many people, they are comfortable as **** and will last forever, because they will have a ton of low stress miles put on them. I've had some runners for years on end, I can likely count on one hand how many times I've actually run in them, but they get rocked often. For most people, it makes more sense to wear runners casually, compared to a pair of basketball shoes.
It's impossible to build a market for these shoes that center around serious runners, there aren't nearly enough of those people out there. That's why these shoe companies have started advertising these shoes to the general market. It's nothing new, the original Air Maxes were designed for serious runners, they realized that people liked how they looked and advertised accordingly.
In regards to the newest drop, I like them(Outside of the orange), but I am a bit disappointed that they moved away from the boosts, which are far and away my favorite Adidas silhouette. They are comfortable, light and go well with my preferred style. That said, I also understand that style is becoming passe, and Adidas is moving towards what the consumer wants.
