MEGA New Miami Adidas Ultraboost🔥 - The Shoe and Nike/Adidas Thread.

This is where you go off the rails.

Nike is helping to sign players at Nike schools. What is so hard to understand about that?

Acting like we couldn't have landed Sears without the assistance of adidas is one of the dumber ideas ever circulated.

Let me get this straight, you think THIS KID picked Miami because of adidas...

"Sebastian on the livestream" doesn't know anything. I believe a guy named "A'Mir Sears" before I believe a guy named "Sebastian on the livestream".

If Miami was a Nike school right now, Nike would have provided money for Sears.

Sears was picking Miami REGARDLESS. You should believe him when he says that. Not "Sebastian on the livestream".

Or is your next wild claim going to be that Miami could only outbid Portnoy by the amount of money that adidas provided? Because that ain't true.

If I'm not mistaken, the EVO SL has good reviews from runners
I have a pair. I use them when I want to go at a decent easy clip and not risk making my Achilles sore. They are also decent on the track. I’ve had a tough time adapting to the high stack movement. I really like VaporFlys for an even faster clip and I’ve learn to like the Vomero Plus (I guess) for when it’s just super hot and I don’t need to do much to get my HR up. I was a Pegasus guy the rest of my life

What are you arguing here? Adidas helped us. That's the whole point.

Nobody is going to a school because of Nike or Adidas. The CIS Nike fanclub is that serious but nobody else is. Jeez. You are trying to find ways to argue for no reason.

Although people generally have good things to say, the reason i haven’t purchased the evo sl yet is cause I’ve heard it’s pretty unstable. Been rotating between the mount to coast R1, asics novablast 5, brooks ghost 17, and (reluctantly) the vomero 18s. I can’t stand the vomeros though. I struggle with the stack height and my plantar fasciitis flares up. Seems like every brand is pushing into max stack heights and softer foams these days.

If I were younger, I would 1000% use a worn Vaprorfly for a trainer. You can’t put a lot of race miles on them and expect them to perform their magic but they seem to have an infinite life as a trainer. You just have to be aware that your tendons might wear down before your muscles because your muscles aren’t going to wear down as much as they used to. So that makes them worth the price tag imo. I’m old though

Really nice but $160 is steep af

That’s the cost, bro. Between tariffs, companies still trying to recover from lost revenue from Covid, + price of materials, $150+ is what u’re looking at
It’s pretty normal right now. Bought some Adidas Barricades for tennis and they were $150-160 and all the brands at the store were the same, even brands that most here wouldn’t recognize like K-Swiss, Wilson, and Lacoste there flagship tennis shoes are $150-$220.

U r exactly correct; the high stack, while great for racers & elite runners, the drawbacks have been a lack of stability & unprompted sprains.

The Vomero has been a better overall shoe in everyday comfort + stability, it’s just not a great race shoe unless you buy the ultra expensive premium version (which is not race legally, ironically).

However, both NB & Nike proved to be the more comfortable, everyday shoe.

Doesn't seem to help Nike sell product. I'm just the messenger.

Those Nike's/Jordans are clean. Adidas in general has some awesome colorways which tend to be clean. Those Adidas kicks are too flashy for me but also not sure why anyone would buy a pair of EVO SL as a comfort shoe. That's a high performance runner that should be used for training/racing only. Adidas could just go with all white and green 3 stripes and keep it clean. Dropset Pro would be much better.

I don't ever pay $160 for runners. That's just dumb. It's a product with a 3-6 month life. I buy whatever brand I can find on sale and have fun experimenting.

What am I arguing here?

You're the one who drops bombs, runs away, and then acts like you didn't say what you just said. You claim that you're unbiased and you don't have an axe to grind, but your posts indicate otherwise. If you just said some pro-adidas stuff, that would be one thing. But EVERY ******* TIME you've gotta unload your bowels on Nike, and it's just getting weird.

The internet is forever.

Yeah, the first thing that I noticed about the first adidas EVOs from last year are that they are GREAT at the sole and incredibly weak in the uppers. As in weak material. They are great walking shoes, but I'm not so sure about running in them, as I tend to be an ankle-turner. Maybe the high stack will help with that, but I'm concerned with the thinness and weakness of the uppers.

Was definitely thinking of getting those Dropsets for comparative purposes.
