Any list I would come up with, would be the same as the list you’re talking about. Rank anecdotal meaningless evidence and unscientific to its core. You’re better and smarter than this - people that don’t understand science might fall for it, but I’m not and I know you’re not either.

I'm not "falling for it". It's certainly something to consider, and far more plausible than "the doctors at UHealth are butchers", which you know was the "word on the streets" a few years ago.

As has been discussed on here before, the question is to what extent adidas customizes the equipment for certain players, and whether linemen get a different customization than, say, a wide receiver gets.

And, look, I was in the building when Nijel Pack's shoes fell apart (and I actually own the same pair) and who will ever know if that disaster cost us the Final Four game.

here's another angle to a situation with a lot of layers...

Jaylen Brown is in the middle of a five-year, $304 million supermax contract that runs through the 2028-29 season. He is owed $57,078,728 for the 2026-27 season, $61,015,192 for 2027-28, and $64,951,656 for 2028-29. Following his blockbuster trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, he is also eligible to sign an extension to keep him in Philly through 2030.

Future Extension Eligibility
  • Date: July 26, 2026
  • Projected Value: Up to a two-year, $142 million extension
  • Impact: If signed with Philadelphia, it would lock him down through the 2030-31 season.

Jaaylen Brown's contract simply out-grew his ability. He won them a championship, and now Boston is proactively re-building with their most valuable asset on a contract that would become less valuable and tradable over time. He's a good player, but not worth 35% of the salary cap; few guys in the history of the NBA are.

If Mario puts his foot down and says NIKE OR GTFO, does he win?

I would habe said yes if not fpr ahat I hear aboit fje Mas Neptjsrs role in all this. Withthsm involved and thwir connectipns to Adidas, I have a hard time seeing Mario beat thw billionaires.
 
Look this is all off-season fan discussion. Both are mega corporations who can essentially provide anything. If we asked Adidas to give us gear that weighs half an oz less than Nike’s with thin rib texture running horizontally (so it would feel slippery when tackled), they would ship it in two weeks. Nike could do the same. It comes down to taste in style. Our last Nike stuff looked like softball uniforms. Some of the adidas stuff looks bad too. I trust Mario to select which ever he thinks gives us an advantage with the kids. Now give me another 5 star for ‘27
