MEGA New Miami Adidas UltraboostšŸ”„ - The Shoe and Nike/Adidas Thread.

Keep posting one-off alternate jerseys.

Remember this, Mr. Traditionalist?

Ooooh, you didn't like the shoulders or the 2-color numbers.

Well, everything about this baby-vomit uniform is terrible.

The design is fine it’s just the colors chosen that makes it terrible. Why not just go full blown OCP pallet if you’re not sticking to traditional UM pallet?

I must be one of the few that thought this was actually a nice 1-off uni for the procombats. It was the ones with the green helmets that was disgusting tbh - and that was mostly because of the helmet Imo. Honestly most of the people that ***** about the yearly 1-off design are lame imo. Who cares. Most are fine, some a good to great and every once in a while they miss....

Also with the camo uni notice plenty of recruits choose to wear that for the photos. The pants color was really the issue with the camo one to me honestly. All the white ones and black (other than that neon one) have been fine to good imo.

Like every single white Alt 1-off we have worn has been nice - with Nike or Adidas as far as design is concerned. And again the black ones have all been good really with the exception of the neon green on that one & which I don't even think we actually wore in a game they just sold? Or am I forgetting the game.... Idk.

Nah. Black pants and it would have been good. The color of the camo was fine honestly. It was that the pants didn't match at all. If pants were black with the black helmet it would have worked far better. (And U logo on helmet should be that matching Camo obviously)
IMO that camo blended in with the grass on the broadcast, it was awesome. What colors is that even? A bad attempt at Marpat?

The design is fine? HOW? They changed the helmet color (which is supposed to be inviolable for a significant portion of our fanbase), then used a meaningless digital camo design for most of the uniform, and finally did not even use Miami colors. I would have been fine if the camo was inside of the numbers and inside of the U on the WHITE helmet. But that camo **** is just waaaaaay overdone.

Meanwhile, you have some posters acting as if a Nike design on the shoulders is the biggest offense they've ever seen, and that Nike should be "blacklisted" for stripes and whatnot.

It's a double-standard, and is based in whole or in part on the MYTH that "Nike treated Miami poorly from 2013 to 2015".

I saw some jerseys I'd never buy that Nike made. And I saw some jerseys I'd never buy that adidas made. It's not a "contest". Although...adidas certainly made the worst jersey that Miami has EVER worn, for both the 2015 and 2016 seasons before Mark Richt stepped in and made our one-off throwback jersey for the 2016 F$U game "the official Miami jersey".

Richt did that. Not adidas. I have no idea why adidas got credit for "making our jersey better" when that was an executive decision by Richt.

We skipped the first year of that neon jersey. It was sold online, and then never worn in a game. Then adidas decided not to redesign it, and we used it again the next year. The second time, it was actually worn in a game.

Good post. See, I'm complimentary when you do a good job of nailing it.

Imo changing the helmet color is bad when it's to orange or green cause it looks ugly and lame imo. I cant think of a single orange or green helmet color we have worn and it not look horrible. I mean maybe it's possible for one in the future, I just doubt it. If our helmet is White/Black/or maybe a Grey it'll work...

All our alt 1off where they changed to black helmet, or when Nike added the little grey to bottom for smoke look, or whenever they changed just the logo coloring (like to add American flag in it or make it pink for breast cancer) or removed the stripe (white or black).... have been fine or even good imo. I think people can say they don't like it, but I think it's crazy to say those looked BAD. Like the Miami ice or literally any black that wasn't that neon...

And in general it's almost impossible to make a plain black or our traditional white helmet look bad. And if you have mostly plain black or white pants to match that helmet color, it's almost impossible for the entire uniform to look actually bad.

It's bad when you take a big risk on the alt and it significantly effects the color of helmet+jersey+pants. That only really works if you stick to white or black. I'd like to see a gray uni though, I like those Nike ones. They just ****ed it up putting the orange/green shiny helmet with it....

This is the correct shade of green. Not really sure how adidas can’t even get our color scheme right
Dont the companies "own" the rights to the colors, thats why you see all these universities havingto change shade everytime they change companies.. South carolina fans have been complaining that their colors have changed to look like alabama lol..

I don’t think it’s true they own the rights to the colors. I think each company has their own color variations for mass production purposes. They may use the same color green for other schools/products

Flagship program bro!!

That Under Armor ā€œgoldā€ looks less like gold and more like butterscotch. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£ . If I was a GT fan (thank God I’m not, šŸ˜‚), I would be really ****ed. Come to think of it, their new gold looks like 4 day old ****.

Adidas is seeing double digit growth and especially killing it internationally. Nike meanwhile is struggling with persistent decline in sales. Nike failing as our apparel partner fits with their own struggles in the apparel market. Nike is a company of yesterday. Perhaps Miami should pick a supplier with some excitement.
