Those sucked. But again I'm not advocating for Adidas. I'm just keeping it real about how badly Nike performed as the apparel supplier when they had a chance. I don't understand why that brand needs to be given another chance. Especially given Nike is a declining company anyway.
Again, not sure how many times it needs to be repeated.
Nike did not, repeat not, "perform badly as the apparel supplier".
Miami chose to deviate from "traditional uniforms" IN THE 1990s. That's an undeniable fact.
All of our uniform designs were approved by Paul Dee or Kirby Hocutt or Shawn Eichorst or Beta Blake James. That's an undeniable fact.
On the other hand, "Nike is a declining company anyway" is not a fact. Most of their current situation is due to a decline in the Chinese market. And the rise of Chinese-based apparel companies.
Now, you can claim that you are "not advocating for adidas". But in a duopoly, your repeated nonsense about "not giving Nike another chance" is exactly that. Advocating for adidas. It can be nothing else. You won't even permit a fair and full competitive bidding process, you just say that Nike should be blackballed. Unless you are saying you want to go with Under Armour, which is just ridiculous.
Again, plucking out individual uniforms is a zero-sum game. First, because both companies have had hits and misses. Second, because some things are a matter of personal taste. But most importantly, because you fail to account for the issue that
@Rellyrell has cited with regularity, which is the quality and cut and fit of the uniforms. Sure,
@ShadowSpring didn't like certain stripes on the Nike uniforms. Got it. Point taken. But the reality is that the Nike uniforms were of a better quality, and I've seen both Nike and adidas game-worn jerseys up close. ****, I own a few of them.
So while I can agree with you that I didn't like all of the Nike designs that our Athletic Directors approved, that's still not a reason to "blackball" Nike. Nike makes better player gear, and they make better consumer gear.
We can debate "fashion" all day and all night. Improvements can always be made, by either company. But the Nike quality exceeds the adidas quality, regardless of how Nike is doing in the Chinese market.
