Pretty much sealed once mas re upped w Messi and the inter dealI've felt that was the likely outcome for a while.
Thanks for nothing, Dan.
Kill me now.
I miss Nike but the good thing is there are like 14 companies out there that sell um licensed apparel now so you donāt have to buy the adidas crap
Just this year, Adidas signed on to outfit all 41 of Miami-Dade County High Schoolsā athletics uniforms, cementing itself as the leading athletic apparel company in the community.
They did this for a reason
Iāve never been much of an AirMax fanā¦You obviously were not around in 1995. These were iconic for a lot of people, myself included. Pretty sure I had a lime that faded to black. My only gripe is you have to tie them.
Uh ohWeāre reupping w adidas
Yeah, true I would agree with ya. Not really a fan orange and green sneakers. The newer soleflys are nice but the orange and green are a bit tuned down.I remember the air bubble Nike shoes. I was never wildly into sneakers. I'm talking about that specific shoe Original posted. You can't convince me that's a good looking shoe at all. Those air force ones somebody posted above, I get that. I like those.
I've always found that the orange and green colors are tough to pattern on a shoe and make it look good. It can be done but it's not easy.
Iām sure all the extras they gave schools have stopped with a stock price like this
the stock market is not the economy. its more of a memeYou do realize that once you do the IPO and sell shares the first time, the "stock price" becomes an issue for the SHAREHOLDERS and not the corporation itself, right?
Meaning, whether Nike has money to give to schools is completely independent from the stock price. It would be based on, oh I don't know, something like REVENUE.
Nike is a big lumbering directionless giant.
Those that downplay their stock price performance should understand the significance that it has.
It absolutely will affect every aspect of their operation. The management team will be focused on a strategy which they hope will result in the stock price to rebound. It will affect nearly every employee thatās mid-level management or above.
You will know that theyāre on the right path when we start seeing major restructuring, layoffs, and general overall cost-cutting and strategic repositioning, including a possible shake up of top management.
Itās forward PE is still high compared to its competition and the market sector that it is in, so I donāt know if right now is the time to get in. But it will be at some point.
Timing is always hard, and without deep inside knowledge of the company and the market sector they operate in, is always very tricky.
As far as this underperformance and how this affects Miami/Nike, I just donāt think strategically they care one bit about Miami. Theyāve got much bigger fish to fry.
1. Itās not a lumbering ādirectionlessā Giant. Lol. On the earnings call, the restructuring of the entire organization, how long the restructuring would take, & the charted path that was going to happen was discussed in great detail.
2. Hence, this is y a lot of reorganization started to take place, this yr, with layoffs in two driving sectors of the business b/c many of these positions were created under the previous CEO, & the chain of command that was implemented by him under the DTC model was no longer viable.
3. The way you guys talk about stock is hilarious to me. How I know if someone is truly in the market or truly a shareholder is by simple statements. For example, if Iām a Bear, Nike has been a great investment for me b/c Iām hedging against their forecast. Thereās not a single, credible Broker on planet Earth that evaluated Nikeās forecast over the last several quarters who wouldāve advise to buy and hold. If any Broker-Dealer advised to get in the bed w them at $62/share, or $620 since itās in bulk, congratulations, u got played for a commission.
If u took it upon urself to some a retail app which informs u projections based upon 3-month, 6-month, 12-month intervals, its yr over yr history, & u still got in bed w them, uāre a dummy.
Now, if u did options trading & used a Put-option at a certain $/per market trigger, then uāve made a **** ton of $$. Iāve been a shareholder for some time, so Iāve not lost any money, just capital gains since 2021. However, Iāve seen the drought, & Iāve been through the splits 3 separate times. If social media was as popular 10 yrs ago as it is today, I guarantee the rhetoric wouldāve been Nike is dead. 2014-2017 was a rough stretch, & everyone swore Adidas was king, especially when they surpassed Jordan Brand in sales.
4. All major money experts are in hold position & expect a monumental climb 2027. Why?
-Innovation team back up & running
-Inventory is approx. 65% on track to become balanced & aligned
-Seamless communication from staff to product managers to officers reducing failed deliverables
-Reinvesting in athletes & returning to its DNA
-Overall decline as a company, but continued growth across several athletic sectors namely Running and All Conditions
-Popularity is still highest among all competitors
-While overall revenue has declined, market cap & total revenue still eclipses Adidas, Hoka, UA, Reebok, NB, & Asics combined.
-Renewed effort to repair & rebuild relationship w/ slumped Asian markets
-Elliot Hillās hands on leadership hasnāt been seen since Phil Knight, which has instilled confidence with global retail & wholesale partners.
Nike x Miami most likely wonāt happen b/c of other factors, but it has nothing to do w their stock position today when their revenue still dwarfs its #1 competitor by 2-folds.
Do you take issue with anything else I posted other than the ādirectionless giantā which I admit is a bit of hyperbole, but when a stock, even a giant like Nike is underperforming their market sector/competitors, then one can at least say the direction to that point has not been one that maximizes shareholder wealth.
I donāt know if your ātruly in the marketā was directed at me or not, but I can assure you I am truly in the market. Iām not one to boast about returns, so I wonāt get into that, but I just donāt invest in your segment of the market. Because I really donāt have deep knowledge of the kind of market that Nike is in - it just doesnāt interest me that much. Iāve basically been in high tech for the last 20 years, and Iām no investing genius, because a monkey could throw darts and make a **** ton of money in tech if they just picked the top players (FAANG) over the last decades - which I have done.
My post was mainly about people trying to time a bottom for Nike. Since I donāt invest in that particular market, and as it has overall underperformed the broader market, itās not really of much interest to me. Now, if I worked for Nike, then, of course it would be of much more interest to me, as well as concern about any accumulated stock options, which I imagine are underwater for many of Nikeās employees that get options.
As far as a āmonumental climbā in 2027, weāll just have to wait and see. Hope so for Nike employees.
Thanks for your response. There is no doubt that Nike is the market leader in its space but behemoths like Nike are hard to turn on a dime. If I knew more about the space, I might have more insightful views, but retail is not an area that I delve into very much. I personally donāt have any skin in the game, but I would wish the company well including its employees. After all, itās an American company.Do you take issue with anything else I posted other than the ādirectionless giantā which I admit is a bit of hyperbole, but when a stock, even a giant like Nike is underperforming their market sector/competitors, then one can at least say the direction to that point has not been one that maximizes shareholder wealth.

1. No, the truly in the market post was directed to someone else, as I peeped their comment which didnāt make sense.
2. No, I didnāt take umbrage w anything else u posted about the state of the brand, which is y I said no B/D w any credibility would ever advise to buy Nike now, b/c the forecast from their own CEO stated it would take 2-3 yrs to shift back in 2025.
