He’s not wrong, Adidas is second rate
The Vol fans I know are not happy campers.
He’s not wrong, Adidas is second rate
Sounds...sooo....familiar....
I would be thrilled if Nike and adidas can work out a sign-and-trade for Tennessee and Miami...

UTenn has over valued themselves for years. They desperately want to be considered a blue blood even touting 6 NC’s - 4 in the 20’s and 30’s that were nowhere near unanimous, the one in ‘58/9 with Johnny Majors and their last one in ‘98 without Manning.UTenn fans r not happy about this, including former players. I’ve heard Adidas is throwing a big bag & used Candace Parker, as well.
The crazy part is most of UTenn’s influential athletes that played for UTenn under the Adidas umbrella r now practically all Nike athletes, except Candace.
I know Nike’s mission, & I know they’ve off loaded some futbol brands that weren’t generating revenue. They’re getting back to their basics, & Elliot’s plan was to corner the athletic market again. The plan is slowly coming to fruition as Nike’s stock has been rising after its precipitous fall. I also know UTenn have actually profited under the arrangement due to royalties.
However, UTenn wants UGA, Bama evaluation. It also doesn’t help that Auburn had a bag thrown at them. So I’m diligently monitoring this situation as Nike may let them go b/c they have a helluva renewal year coming up for UGA & Bama; both will b demanding higher evaluations! Then u have other programs that they r eyeing next year, including another SEC school.
Nike could be playing coy like they did w Brazil, France, b/c they have the first right to refuse, Adidas had to show their hand. I’ve seen more reports on Adidas having these offers, how it’s a done deal, & boom: Nike rips their heart out.

UTenn, ND, & Texas A&M r 3 of the more overrated, delusional fan bases that overvalue their worth. At least w ND, I can make a reasonable excuse citing their pre-WWII history + late 70’s-80’s, along w ND having been in multiple BCS Nat’l Title games/CFP participants recently.
UTenn want to be something they r not. That’s like us claiming Minnesota, Army, Princeton, etc r blue bloods b/c of what they did in the past. UTenn just became relevant again in the past 2-3 yrs, after being a virtual 3-8 win program on any given yr from 2005-2021. Why they think they’re on Bama or UGA level is beyond me.
Per this report it sounds likely that they’re going with adidas
Holy ****…they remind me of those Sketchers shoes they marketed to us ladies years ago that allegedly toned your ***https://www.adidas.com/us/miami-adizero-sl2-running-shoes/JQ0240.html

I guess Miami is no longer the face of adidas….
I told u, personally, back in 2020 how we were going to be eventually treated, just like Michigan. Unfortunately, Adidas is looking for the next, & tend to treat their new toys like old toys when exposure is not what they want: Go ask Trae Young & Tracy McGrady this.
Just an FYI, Hokas are selling very well right now. Even Nike are releasing shoes that mirror that silhouette, because the shoes are very comfortable and people like them. People are starting to realize that wearing uncomfortable shoes for "Style" is a fools errand, hence why brands like New Balance and others are doing better now than they were 10-15 years ago. The sneakerheads from a decade ago are starting to age into the dad shoe category and the brands are moving right along with them.Holy ****…they remind me of those Sketchers shoes they marketed to us ladies years ago that allegedly toned your ***

If Adidas offers a financial figure that is significantly better than what Nike is willing to reup for, then you take the better deal. Again, this is BUSINESS. In a world where revenue matters more than ever, you can't afford to short yourself, just so some dumbass fan, who most likely buys 1-2 shirts per year(AT MOST) can run their mouth. I wonder if Nike isn't willing to match, because they are starting to realize that paying fair market value isn't feasible for their huge stable of schools. Keep in mind, Nike was able to build this stable on the back of undervaluing properties for decades, because there was limited competition for schools. Adidas has shown that they are at least willing to compete for schools, and with their worldwide reach, they have the money to do so.
Either way, Miami will have an opportunity to push for more, provided the on field product continues to improve.
