MEGA New Miami Adidas Ultraboost🔥 - The Shoe and Nike/Adidas Thread.

What a bunch of nonsense.

Dean Smith was a very good coach. Nobody disputes that.

But he had not broken through to win a championship until Michael Jordan got him there. That's also a fact.

And AFTER Michael Jordan got UNC its first Division I ring, it became much easier for Dean Smith to recruit and win championships at UNC. ALSO A FACT.

All the "what about 1956 when black players couldn't play" nonsense in the world won't change that.

It's funny that you chose to "advise" @Calinative that "some people on this board read to argue" when that is EXACTLY WHAT HE DID. He jumped into a thread to argue, not comprehend.

It is inarguable that Michael Jordan transformed UNC's basketball trajectory, yet here comes @Calinative to argue.

Do you think Michael Jordan was a transcendent player as a true freshman? He was a huge part of that team, he provided a different dimension, but he wasn't even the best player on that roster that year. James Worthy and Sam Perkins were the engines that drove that team. Having two top end bigs gave Jordan freedom to do his thing, he wasn't expected to carry the load, he was expected to fill a role, which was great for his development. People also forget that Dean Smith coached for a National Championship the year before MJ came to campus. He had played in the Championship game multiple times in the previous five years BEFORE Jordan came in. They were extremely close to begin with, it wasn't like Jordan came to a program that was getting bounced in the first round every year. Dean was getting talent before MJ, he got talent afterwards, the one thing you could say about Dean is that he knew how to recruit and develop talent.

That's my point. People wrongly assume that Jordan came into Chapel Hill and was MICHAEL JORDAN. He wasn't, he had to develop, and he had the work ethic and ability to get the most out of his immense talent. He didn't come in and immediately dominate. If you want to name someone that actually did that, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar come to mind. Then again, we know full well why people refuse to consider KAJ in the GOAT conversation, but that's a conversation for a different day.

Texas Tech:
•Mahomes: 16-21 record at TTU, 11k+ yrds, 93 TDs & 29 ints.
•Harrell: 28-11 record at TTU, 15k+ yrds, 130+ TDs & 34 ints.

Do u know the difference between Mahomes reputation at TTU vs. Graham’s rep? NFL success & ring culture. Lol.

We’re talking about a player’s name being on a college team’s jersey, or did u forget the premise? Michael Jordan is not just important to UNC, he’s important to shoe culture in general. No Michael Jordan, & there’s no Patrick Mahomes, Kobe’s, LeBron’s, etc. More importantly, if there’s no Jordan, then Nike doesn’t exist as it is. So the POINT was, if Jordan doesn’t have his name on the back of helmets & jerseys as a brand sponsor, including his own alma mater, then y in TF would Mahomes?

I’m amazed every time I come on CIS at the level of contradictions ppl can post in a single response. This **** said ring culture has ruined sports, while simultaneously admitting Mahomes is TT’s most famous alum, not b/c of what he actually did at TT…..but…..b/c…..of…..winning……RINGS at The NFL level! This **** said u can make an argument that Jordan wasn’t even the best UNC player ever (speaking of his time at UNC), when QUITE LITERALLY Mahomes 100000% wasn’t the best TT player ever. Michael Crabtree, Graham Harrell, Kliff Klingsbury all run circles around Mahomes while at TT.

U know what they don’t run circles around at him at? The NFL. U know y? Ring Culture!

🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Man U cannot help but be entertained by this site. Anything for a cape, I tell u.

Oh, & as far as ur Jordan take:
Donald Trump GIF by reactionseditor

Jordan’s first NBA nickname, which he debunked, was Captain Marvel. He debunked it b/c he felt it was disrespectful to Bird & Magic being a rookie.

•Bill has the rings but he don’t have the stats
•Kareem & Jordan r tied for the rings, but Kareem don’t have the records or individual accolades

There’s only one player in the Top 75 that’s:
•Undefeated as a Defending champion
•Can claim they made All NBA, All Def, Scoring Champion, MVP, Finals MVP, & All Star Game MVP in the same season
•Can claim being undefeated in ALL championship games, Collegiately, Professionally, & Internationally.
•Every Finals, he was the undisputed best player on both teams

Michael Jeffrey Jordan, The Be All & End All.

The difference between Harrell and Mahomes? Harrell played for a borderline HOF quality HC in Mike Leach. Mahomes played for a guy that is the walking embodiment of failing upwards. There's a fundamental difference between what Leach built and what Kingsbury did. You put Mahomes on those Leach teams, he likely shatters records. The fact that he did what he did, despite playing in that circus is a testament to his talent.

Who gives AF. Lol. Do u see how u have to try to move goal post each & every time? Like WTF r u even talking about? The only reason Mahomes is Texas Tech’s most infamous alum is b/c of what he did in the NFL, period. Like blood, u have this propensity to just argue nonsensical points.

If Mahomes doesn’t win championships at the NFL level, Adidas nor TT would give AF about him. Just keep it solid or don’t, but u r looking goofier each post.

I’m ok with them cashing in on the Mahomes NFL success and riding that alumni wave. It would be like if we had powerful alumni in bed with Adidas and leveraged that to be the flagship and get great merch and perks…

they ever gonna drop more gear on the Adidas site considering our season starts in 2 weeks?

Penn states has A LOT more **** than we do on Adidas.com
They dropped new fan gear on Fanatics and Lids in the last day or two. They have more of an Adidas selection than the adidas site.

One of these days ya’ll will start listening to me.

1. I told ya’ll Adidas is becoming Skechers, knocking off everything Nike does, including color schemes for University of Houston to rep The Houston Oilers:

2. I told u UTenn is Adidas’ new pride & joy, & will be having them as their priority.

& in case u’re wondering:

Adidas x UTenn: 40 items (strictly UTenn branded)
Adidas x Miami: 27 items (Miami branded) / 20 (General Adidas)

Fanatics x Adidas x UTenn: 178 items
Fanatics x Adidas x Miami: 121 items with the vast majority being several yrs old &/or repeat items.

Idk how anyone argues that the fan selection from adidas blows… super generic slap a logo on it and sell their over stock.

I just hope the adidas deal keeps the athletes happy and buys us recruits with them funding NIL because this deal won’t be good for fans

Let's review the 29 "Hot New Arrivals" in adidas Men's gear (on Fanatics, because apparently adidas doesn't want to make money selling their own gear on their own website)...

OK, here is a recurring motif. Same exact shirt, 4 colors (orange, green, white, black) and in solids or stripes, as if we are playing billiards. Boring, overly busy t-shirt as well.

Same ****, different color/sleeve-length.

Same ****...whoa, finally a new design that I would actually pay money for.

OK, here are two things I would actually think about purchasing.

One last thing I'd buy, and it's NOT the flat-brimmed hat.
