Did you know that Rerun and his dance troupe, The Lockers, appeared on the THIRD EVER episode of Saturday Night Live in 1975, hosted by Rob Reiner (I have the first 5 seasons on Blu-Ray)? Plus, he's from The Lou.

Married 6 times. To 4 women. Crazy stuff.

1. Adidas spent a ****, & I mean a **** ton of $$ to both PSU & UTenn.
2. UL, TAMU, & Miami all r expiring around the same time.
3. Allegedly, Adidas wants in on Utah now, whose contract ALSO expires at the same time as us & TAMU.

As I said yrs ago, signing the 12 yr deal was going to bite us in the *** due to being outdated & now….coming off our best season since 2002, here we r having to compete w TAMU, Adidas potential overpay for Utah, & UL.

So it’s going to be interesting.

Cut the crap and be real for a minute.

Nike didn't force us to do that. Review the timeline. We had THREE different AD's during that time (Hocuntt, the Shermanator, and Beta Blake). That's not an excuse. It's an explanation for the fact that the Athletic Department was largely rudderless during that time. Hocuntt was busy trying to get back to his alma mater, the Texas Tech Gamblin' Raiders. The Shermanator was busy trying to get back to his alma mater, Nebraska.

And then, for the last two years of the Nike deal, Beta Blake was busy converting our equipment and uniform allotments into straight cash payments. Yes, what @Brooklyndee says about the last couple of years of the Nike deal is true, but not because Nike "didn't love Miami". It was because Beta Blake was cutting our equipment and uniforms in order to take cash payments prior to awarding the deal to adidas.

Sad, but true.

Thanks for the details bc I was young during that time and had no idea of the politics and issues surrounding Miami and its athletic department. **** I didn’t really become a Cane fan until the 2002 season bc of McGahee, Winslow, Taylor and Rolle. But I just knew I hated those uniforms it made Miami look like a hand me down school.

OK, fair enough. I tend to assume folks have been fans for a long time, so all apologies if you never got to experience the greatness of the 1980s and 1990s.

And I also think that people associate some of those jerseys with "bad times", and thus dislike them more than they should.

At any rate, everyone has opinions, and that's fine.

They talked about the new Nike deal with LSU a lot locally. With that said, from my fan perspective, if Nike would offer a similar deal as the LSU deal to Miami, I would be in favor of going with Nike. But, if not, and the players feel the Adidas apparel and footwear is adequate I'm fine with staying with Adidas.

I dont think they will, Nike had us looking like clowns compared to other schools unfortunately..

That was more than a decade ago. A lot of us with those ugly jerseys is on the head coach. Head coaches typically have final say or a great say on what the jerseys look like and the choice of apparel/footwear outfitter.

What Ahmmon said on the pod today about Adidas footwear was interesting. He said he thinks Adidas cleats are the reason he started getting hamstring injuries, and he is interested in seeing Nike school v. Adidas school injury reports. It's a great listen.
