Honestly facts. I don’t like being that guy who says people should “do this” or “do that” with their money, but he uses the Canes as part of his own brand a lot.

Maybe he does it in the shadows which in that case never mind, but seems like he could contribute a bit more considering how often he name drops or uses the logo in his content.

The current locker room was just completed about 2016 or 2017. I was given a private tour just before it opened to the team. It’s not bad at all, but I have to believe the new one will be as good as any school’s, given the support they now have.

I took a tour at a similar time. While the locker was new, it lacked any wow factor that you would see across the country even in the year 2016/2017. Taking the tour, it reminded me of Miami not wanting to get too far away from its past… almost like taking so long to ditch the pro style. Given the year the locker room was completed it should have been a **** of a lot more futuristic than it was. This was needed and can’t wait to see how it looks

Look, Dany and Dwayne were both athletes at UM. Her company is based in South Florida and she continues to have a lot of connections to UM alums. His company is based on the west coast and he interacts with people from a variety of backgrounds.

Both of them rep the U, they just do it to different audiences. And I'd be willing to bet that in the not too distant future, the connections between Mario and Dwayne will pay off. But people were expecting huge donations under Beta Blake/Al Golden/Manny Garcia?

Come on, now. Was John Ruiz cutting huge checks to UM Athletics? Were the Mas brothers? Was anyone, outside of Carol Soffer?

I'm not sure if you would call it "new". There's definitely going to be some expansion and new integration into the rest of the building as it is built. Eventually, the weight room is supposed to "look out" into the IPF.

I wonder if when the new football building is built that they will turn the current coaches offices and meeting rooms into some weight rooms? They are about 165'x36' and look roughly the size of the weight room in width. So an upper floor addition would add ~6,000 square feet. For reference Alabama's weight room is something like 37,000 square feet but also have offices and what not.

For the record, it's not a "new football building". It is a new Athletic Center that will serve all sports. There are football components (expansion of the IPF) which will also occur, but we should try to stop making this all about football. I'm also hoping we reinstate some sports and/or add new sports.

If the other things happen that I've heard about (expansion at Watsco, moving the track), then you might see a decentralized situation for coaches' offices and whatnot.

But the new Hecht is going to serve all of UM Athletics, even if the football team "uses" the services the most. A floor for NIL opportunities and support, a floor for nutrition/recovery type services, etc.

But it’d also be silly to not to recognize it’s at least symbiotic and he is a recognizable brand because he gets associated with historic UM teams.

That is literally my point. This school, and community, is part of his brand.
