I find myself surprised by these pickups in a good way. But then I realized we just played for a natty and kids want to be apart of this

Remember Heatherman saying the team had 4 starters at CB this year. With how long the seasons are now, you need that type of depth at certain spots, especially defensive line. The old way of looking at starters is probably antiquated. He should play a ton.

In the age of the 12 team playoff my theory is that every room has to have one more able bodied guy in there to be considered true depth. So if having 3 running backs at one time was considered 'deep', you probably need 4 nowadays, and so on...

Love this. Different body types all over the DL gives you the ability to play matchups against different types of offenses without changing your scheme game to game. It's basically instant adjustment. Those insane Seahawks defenses were like 8 guys deep on the DL, even if they didn't feature a HOF level guy anywhere.

Seems like an odd schematic fit for us. But I will say if you are a solid starter as a true sophomore in the B1G you are a solid player.

Don’t know if he’s still 275 but he survived as a starter in the B1G at whatever weight he is. Only time he played Edge was when they were in 3 down from what I’ve seen
