ND Game Next Year

If/when the committee screws us we should cancel this game.

Add another home game and play UCF.

Will curb stomp them, get credit for a P4 win, and they will pack the stadium making up for the payment to get out of the ND game.

No point in playing OOC heavyweight games any more. Just follow the Indiana model and schedule layups and try to make the conference title game.

We literally got zero benefit from beating ND and UFag other than the satisfaction of beating down a rival and ND has since rubbed it in our faces even though we won.
I agree cancel it on them idc the money owed. Clear as day the game only hurts us

Nah, these are the games that make college football interesting and that recruits come TO programs to be part of. Plus there is nothing like consistently taking down overrated ND.
You're right.

Guys would much rather play ND week 1 instead of make the playoffs.

What a take ... we beat them the last two times we played. What do YOU want to do ... play Bethune Cookman every game? Want to be national champs? Beat every team regardless of who and where. That is what actual championship teams do. Or get a participation trophy.

Bottom line - until we stop coaching so conservatively and scared and stop losing 2 games to inferior ACC opponents a year, we’ll continue to be in this position no matter what our OoC schedule is.

Miami should be running a train through the ACC and going undefeated in league play, or at WORST, 1 conference loss a year. 2 ACC losses is unacceptable.

We need to stop trying to rationalize the Louisville and SMU losses “tHeY sHoUlD bE rAnKeD! ThEY are gOoD teAmS gUYsM!” And face reality - the talent advantage Miami has over those teams is drastic. Mario continues to do what he does - lose to inferior teams in league play. We saw at Oregon and we continue to see it at Miami.

Blame Mario, not the schedule.
THIS is post of the year!!!!!!!!!!

I just have to point this out again..ND lost to the 2 toughest teams on its schedule and is getting credit for beating up weaker teams. I say play them.

And what did we get for beating them twice? .... left out of the playoffs at 10-2.

Now imagine if we lose the game against them next year .... means we have to go undefeated the rest of the way.

I literally laid out in the original post that ND in particular offers no upside and we should replace them with a lower half P4 opponent that can fill the stadium for us (ie: UCF/USF). Nothing about Bethune Cookman.

We just need to start losing to them and the good teams, and beat up on inferior ACC teams.

Or just stop losing 2+ games every year.

Nobody thinks it’s the problem. We recognize that beating ND isn’t necessarily part of the solution. We ‘barely’ missed the playoffs last year because of a weak schedule, played and beat better teams this year and are looking to miss it again.

Texas losing to Ohio State also might cost them their playoff chances.
no texas losing to dogsh*t uf should cost them their playoff chances.

but u dont hear much about that...just that miami lost to trash teams....like smu or louisville wouldnt beat uf

Problem with your entire evaluation is that Miami lost to two unranked teams as double digit favorites. Miami's position regarding the CFP has nothing to do with ND but rather 100% with the UM coaching staff not having the team prepared to win the games vs significantly weaker opponents. Taking ND off the schedule does nothing to rectify this reality.
