with our luck two things will happen

1. This guy really does love football and will not come close to being the next president

2. He will be the next president but all the reports about how much he loves sports and his Butch davis ties turn out to be lies and he kills the football program.

Either way don't put too much stock into what anyone is saying about this guy or about his chances to be the next president at UM. No one knows anything

So she'll never fit in with the cool kids she's hanging around with all the time. Would you really want to take that away from her? It's not every day one gets a chance to be cool.

If by chance we get a former admiral with his credentials, it's not a matter of whether or not he likes football. Senior officers are quickly aware of any subordinates that are not performing - and trust me - performance is the bottom line in the military.

One other thing. They give a person responsibility over a given task, but they also give them authority over that task. No one can be held responsible for a task he has no authority over. And like any senior officer, he demands results, asks what support is needed, provides that support, and doesn't want to hear any BS on why something can't be done.

Task assigned, and there will be accountability for anything less than said task completed.

Butch is a proven motivator, personnel evaluator, expert in personnel acquisition, personnel training, and in essence, a proven leader. Something other leaders find appealing.

Our admiral will NOT go with some unproven commander.

I really don't care who he next president is. What I do care about is who the next god**** football coach is and how fast he can get here.

Agree totally. Would be happy with the Admiral or the Condi. I think both know Bullsht walks

The new president is currently the most important thing there is right now. If we get someone that is big on football, we can expect changes, and hopefully a real commitment to excellence, like they preach. You better start caring about who the president is. A new president could change everything.

The odds of Miami hiring Condi Rice are about the same as them rebuilding the Orange Bowl.

He's taken minor shots at Obama on Twitter and (based on a cursory glance) seems to think we can still win in Afghanistan. I've also seen him pushing for closing Gitmo and wanting to open a dialogue with Iran so he's probably more moderate than some of us would like but definitely not a typical liberal academic. Right now I'll take someone that doesn't list a leadership role in Obama For America on their resume as a positive change. Nothing to get excited about yet but a net positive. The biggest joke of all is that the Midget Queen has somehow fooled some people into thinking she's a moderate. The only thing that even remotely kept her in check is that our BoT uniquely has a few people that lean right.
