Did Coker stop coaching?
Do you honestly think Saban and Meyer would be winning like they are if Coker was still coaching? Where have you been?
Did Coker stop coaching?
That 11-1 season was the culmination of 4yrs of Severe sanctions....Not too Shabby.....Take 31 MF-ing Schollies from Saban....Dabo or Urban...and throw in No Bowl or TV for a yr....and in a yr or two be sure to tell me what Great gameday coaches they are.....
And what people forget is that He wasn’t the OC for most of those wins. Who knows how his career would look if he was his own OC.Simply put, MR is not and has never been an ELITE football coach. He is an AVERAGE/GOOD football coach. 9-10 wins per year, with 3-4 of those wins against s....y teams. He WILL NEVER win championships. Never has, never will. The U had our options three years ago to make a good football coaching hire, but as usual we did not. It is what it is!
Yeah, he "stepped down" at UTSA three or four years ago. As far as I know he is not a head coach at any FBS program.Did Coker stop coaching?
This is what I've been saying....We should've and could've had him in 07....if we would have...we'd have atleast 6-7 NCs.....Butch Davis is 66 years old now, we should have hired Butch back when we hired Al Golden I think the ship has sailed. By the time we hire a new coach Butch will be 70.
lightening is a bottle? wtf. do you realize the recruiting that man had to do? do realize he had to get kids here on tracks schollys? smhIt was a great accomplishment and lightning in a bottle ... 20 YEARS AGO!
There are 4 active coaches who have won a title. Saban, Jimbo, Urban, and Dabo.
You left off Butch Davis.
Butch Davis is a football God!

I meant as a head coach. I'm sure there's plenty of dudes out there that won as assistants. Or position coaches.
in absentia circa 2001lightening is a bottle? wtf. do you realize the recruiting that man had to do? do realize he had to get kids here on tracks schollys? smh
When you look at Davis' record everywhere else he's been including Miami from 95-99, the 11-1 season is an outlier. Maybe he could have stayed at Miami and replicated the feat over and over but he didn't and everywhere else he's been since has been a lot of 8 win seasons. Also, the tactics he used to get around scholarship reductions wouldn't be allowed in today's NCAA. As soon as Santana Moss stepped on the football field, that track scholly would have become a football scholly.
Saban is older.....Stop it....
Nah, we're already an 8 win team we need a guy that can get us over the hump.Butch always goes to places that need rebuilding. That's his specialty.
We are in desperate need of a rebuild.
Lol I wouldn’t say 6 or 7, but we’d definitely have a couple moreThis is what I've been saying....We should've and could've had him in 07....if we would have...we'd have atleast 6-7 NCs.....
Azzwipe...what I'm saying is we could've had him back in 07....But by all means...keep thinking Richt is superior to Butch...Who the **** is talking about '07? The discussion is about 2 years ago hiring 64 yr old Butch after washing out at UNC vs 55 year old Mark Richt (who won 10 or more games 11 of his 17 seasons).
I don't love the way this season has played out and all the air seems to have been let out of the balloon with the dreadful decision to bench (and not put back in Perry) along with our **** O-line, play calling, and special teams but those that pretend old wash-up Butch was an option are dumber than Randy Shannon's quotes about playing snake.
Meaning #6 and #7....are you that dense??Lol I wouldn’t say 6 or 7, but we’d definitely have a couple more
