I guarantee you that in yr 3....Butch would've had a staff that ****s on the current one....
STs that were BEASTS
A real OC & OL coach....
A real NCAA QB...
and at alot less $$$$....Funny how our irrelevance started the SECOND Butchs kids all were gone in 04....For the last 10yrs he should've been at UM.....But Shannon...Golden and Richt were better options....
 
Anyone who thinks Butch is the answer doesn’t even understand the question.

Jesus, will some people ever move past this guy? Will you be begging for him when he’s 90?

I agree with @Franchise says to a point (as I usually do) in regards to Butch..
Ship has sailed...time to move on....but that's not my argument...My argument (and I truly believe it) is....since 07 we've had the chance many times to make the correct hire..and we flubbed it....Sure its to late now.....but what a complete waste of talent...and a complete waste of recruits that would have been Canes if Butch were here the past 10yrs....Don't think Butch doesn't know the Dade..Broward landscape....He slayed it from 84-88 and then again from 95-2000....To say that in 2007 he couldn't have done it again is the epitome of retardation...
 
Insect IQ types think Saban and Belichicks age (66) makes them poor choices as head coach in 2018. Dunning-Kruger is a heck of an effect.

I haven't seen a single intelligent argument why Butch couldn't do what Saban and Belichick continue to do in 2018.
Butch would restock the cupboards with the very same SF/national talent as only he knows how to unearth. With Richts regime payroll, he would get coordinators of Coker et al ability. Again, there is zero reason to believe he would not AT MIAMI. Not Cleveland, not NC, not FIU, AT MIAMI
There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that he could, as in he has actually done so before, unlike any other.

No one, ever, in the history of modern football at this level, has done what those two have done and continue to do.

Ever.


Yet you want to put Butch in the same class as the two greatest to ever do it, based on one great team he built in his entire coaching career that he didn’t even stick around for long enough to watch succeed.

You’re delusional if you think Butch was going to continue that roll indefinitely.
 
the writing was on the wall. donna the troll wanted barry alvarez. there was stuff that went on that lead to butch leaving which no one knows. also, i cant fault a guy for wanting to try his hand at nfl.

We’re not firing Rick, so it doesn’t matter anyway.

But you don’t need to pay a guy like Jizzbo $10M to make a good hire. Look at what OU did. Iowa State made a great hire. Good young coaches get hired every year.

You have to know what to look for and not just fall into the “let’s hire a retread” line of imbecility.

These guys are more up and down than our program. Now Mullen is a genius despite having the worst record in history against ranked teams. They luck out a couple wins, and now he’s a genius.

Wait till they play some good teams and get waxed. Then all the Mullen guys will evaporate.
