Thank god we have CiS to share in the misery.
You forgot about the off and on rain and injuries. The refs…I said it all last night. We are cursed, and burn the dam uniforms.Had to work and watched game thru texts and quick score alerts. Crazy my peception of the game then and now that I have watched it. Yes, the end was a world-class debacle BUT the game was just strange. Different uniforms, TVD off night etc. I know I will get the hates for this but it looked like a rivalry game. Slugfest first half. Offenses get going second half. Miami looks to have it and then an outlier that changes outcome.
Disappointed in the loss and mismanagement. Curious about the rebound week. Not sure we have it in us but we will see*
*apologies for rational thoughts
None from the math department, I hope. Are there any other Columbus grads we can bring into the program?
Even if he did realize he could kneel and instead this was allowing the attempt to get Chaney 100 yards, the math doesn't work. The potential cost (we saw) is simply not worth the risk (in a 3 point game). And, that's the type of analysis you'll have to make over and over in football games. So how do you trust we can consistently reach the right conclusions?
I had to watch the game on my phone and don’t have detailed thoughts, but my wife isn’t talking to me this morning and my head hurts. This sucks.
We all expected Mario to blow a game because of gameday blunders. But it didn’t need to be a national humiliation.
The UNC game just became the most important game in years. There is a real risk that the team loses trust in Mario after a botch like that. A loss can send the season off the rails. A win gets us back on an upward trajectory.
Salute to all the maniacs who still care after a loss like that. We are the college football version of Job. Hopefully, it will all be worth it one day. See you on Saturday night.
Dont say you weren't warned! How is it possible for a HC to be so inept after over 10 years experience? Mario looks like Nathaniel Hackett out there.
Great movie.
That entire staff had about 10 minutes of real time - more than 4 minutes of game time - to think about how to competently end the game. The entire final drive was called with the intention of running out the clock. This was not difficult math calculation that snuck up on them. It was, literally, the purpose of the drive: get to a point where we can kneel to end the game. Lmao
This. I'm thinking to myself, you have to do a hail mary there not backyard ball. Awful. Not that it matters with the botched call not taking the knee, but Mario and Dawson IMO screwed up the last offensive play of game too not throwing a hail Mary in the end zone to Young or someone that can jump and have a chance to catch it. Wtf! Worst coaching blunder ever with not taking a knee and horrendous last 2 min of game coaching.
My biggest issue is that he is the best qb we have had and will have for awhile, and Mario has never recruited qbs well. Last night was a glimpse into the future of no downfield passing threat and it came down to the wire with a 2-3 team, exactly the type of games that happened in OregonWe all know Mario is a gameday corch of the highest order. Always has been and always will be. The rest of this season will ride on which version of TVD we get from here on out.
If we get the TVD from the A&M game, we'll have a puncher's chance against everyone on our schedule. If he plays like he did last night and like he did last season, then we're in for one **** of an implosion that we won't recover from.
Never ever leave the game in the hands of the refs, just take care of business.espn will never point out chaney was clearly down. they will run with the horrible play call.
DVD was off and the end was a colossal meltdown. But I think the players pick Mario up and we win 1 of the next 2 and track to an 8 win season. It was bad, but it wasn’t FIU or Middle Tenn St bad.
Well there is another scenario that's even worse in my opinion.
They knew they could take a knee but ran it anyway to get Chaney over 100 to try to salvage the optics of the game.
