My guess is we miss on this kid, too.
Ideally I’d have us throw all the money at that Army kid that went to UGA but we weren’t even in the conversation

Feels a bit like baseball contracts when you’re betting on guys coming back from injuries

Our LB room is already dealing with injury problems. So sick of this still being a problem. Alderman, Chase and even Wes are not championship caliber, imo.

That sample size is waaaay too small to be flexing like that but do you.
And who died and made you Buddy Ryan??? I can appreciate concerns but you talk like you know for a fact and you do not. The facts are:

Hethermen has done more with less
Hethermen has not had talent like he does now
Hethermen is allowed a chance to coach one game before thrown to the wolves

U have no sample size with Hethermen at Miami to be flexing as if your Nostradamus

Here is a fact, he was only a DC for one season at Minnesota. We have zero clue if he is responsible for their success or failures in Minnesota last season. Yet, you’re crowning him like he’s our savior without playing a single game and a depleted roster outside of the CB position. There is a someone acting like “nastradamus” and it’s not me.

For whatever it’s worth, I hope you’re absolutely spot on about him.

for what it is worth I think our approaches to the canes are largely the same. Heatherman was not my first choice for DC, but he is our guy and ima ride with it and support him until he gives me reason not to. Right now some of the recruiting stuff may scare me a bit, I always am nervous about a recruiter from the northeast being successful in the south but with NIL I think the emphasis on a true recruiter, as long as you arent a total jerk or off putting is probably overplayed.

The one thing about Mario is he at least knows what a championship roster looks like. At the end of the year I dont think anyone saw LB as a "glaring" hole. We knew secondary but we all thought Popo, Bobby, etc. were progressing and it wasnt a need. Spring rolls around and it went from "LB possible" to "worst unit on the defense by far and they will cost us games"

So the coaches identified a few spots where they felt they needed clear upgrades and went hunting. They missed and now we are riding with what we got which goes full circle I am going to be pulling for each kid but hoping on a bunch of TF and soph to take a "leap" isnt ideal by any stretch which is evidenced by the coaches going portal shopping. Will it work? Maybe...but its not the plan the coaches wanted to start the season with.

There is the difference…when did I ever crown him? I said he has never had talent like this, I have said let him cook and give him a chance. You’re the one already calling your shot to be right in the archives instead of letting it play out.

The major FACT between the both of us is: Neither one of us know what is going to happen.

You can project your opinion but U dont know to speak in FACT!

“Our DC does more with 2-3 stars than most do with 4-5 stars”

There is very little evidence to support this theory. Someone is definitely projecting here…

You keep saying he never had talent like he does here? Lol **** are you even talking about? We just had the worst defense in my lifetime and most of that roster is coming back without significant upgrades in many positions besides CB. We brought in 6 DB’s and still need a safety and a nickel. Straight clown ****.

Worst defense in your lifetime huh? ... Interesting.

And most players coming back isn't as big of a deal when the ones returning really weren't major problems. The biggest issues by an order of magnitude (or two) last year was DB and DLine stunts. The stunts issue will hopefully be eliminated by the new DC, and the DB room was entirely flipped. "Needing" a Nickel and Safety when we have clearly 5 superior DBs than last season is an objectively hilarious thing to be clowning the coaches about.

The only thing that isn't a clear upgrade over last season defensively is whether Blay will play as well as Barrow did for us and probably Mauigoa loss as well given he was a better LB than we gave him credit for due to last year's performance (but hey half the people hated him anyways, so...) But idk what world DB wasn't a guaranteed major upgrade accounting for like 5/11 spots on the starting defense....

Thats not a projections...his talent at James Madison, Rutgers and Minnestoa is below ours and not one of those programs have a 4-5 star at LB so that not projections, that's a fact! I also am focusing on the LBs as that was your major issue. U think we need a NFL type upgrade and that's when I stated Hethermen has done more with less talent.

This is the point!

Also our defenses were far worse under D'Nofrio so unless you are under the age of 12 years old that is not true.

I have PTSD from Guidry. I heard the same stuff - less talent and top ranked defenses. “If he shut down ND with Marshall talent, imagine what he will do with guys at Miami.” What I saw last year was the destruction of the greatest season a Miami offense has ever had with his whacked out schemes that nobody ever picked up. Again, I’m excited about Heatherman as well, but let’s not build him a statue quite yet.

I’ll predict he commits to UNC. They had all that NIL $ to spend this spring and didn’t so I can see them overpaying for a veteran LB in the end.

We had WR1, starting Safety, starting MLB and starting/rotational DT as our top 4 Spring portal goals. We covered our RB3 and kick returner, brought in some depth of talent, but didn't accomplish any of the top 4 goals. Thomas is marginally a starting safety, so that one is arguable. But we should not have broken the bank on any of those guys.

So if Toure is healthy, we should have the funds to go get him. And we should use them because he will vastly improve the LB room if healthy..

Oh I hope he comes here I prefer veteran LBs but I just am assuming like UNC did with the UF DT Robinson they have the funds ready to overspend. I still can’t believe we are exiting Spring window without a fkn WR1 after all that lol

Wr1 is Jojo’s spot now, he took that next step in spring, and he has the talent to be it. He’s a sophomore this year, so we have to believe he’s ready.
