Ladd's stats through 9 games in 2023: 478 yards/2tds
X's stats through 9 games in 2024: 856/9Tds

X's college production gives him the edge. Question is will X's 'lack of straight line speed' hurts him in the NFL, and time will tell. That's a different conversation.

The point of the whole original comment is that people on the board don't want to call X a WR1, which is fine. If Ward didn't have a WR that fit the 'WR1' criteria, you can't then say Beck did in 2023
X couldn't hold Ladd jockstrap and I hate the bulldogs but these two players are not comparable at all

I would love to know who this first round WR he played with is? I'd probably take 2024 X over 2023 McConkey any day of the week. If someone in the building told X to fake an injury and not run the 40, he would have have been a 2nd/3rd round pick. You cant say X isn't a WR1, then turn around and say Lad McConkey fits that bill
No he wouldn't of... X lack of speed shows up clearly on film as well. He's just not a NFL caliber athlete.

In what respect are you saying that?

As a college wr? Then you're comment couldnt be more off. X was the better college wr and it's not even close.

As an NFL wr? Who cares. But it's up for debate as X hasn't even had a mini camp yet. The NfL drafts based on projections and measurables, but they are often wrong. So just bc ladd went in the first round and X undrafted doesn't yet mean that "X can't hold his jockstrap"

The jury is out on Bissainthe as a true difference-maker at LB (those guys usually stand out right away as freshmen) but he is very solid.

We’re all a little selective in when we use PFF grades, but his are good. His pass rush grade matches the eye test- he needs to get better there and is somewhat limited by his straight-linish movement
So D if Toure commits you think our top 4 going into next season is Bissainthe, Toure, the NC State guy and Popo?

What does X do better than Ladd? Ladd is a better route runner, he’s more explosive, faster, a better athlete, and a better deep-ball receiver. If you put Ladd in this offense last season, he easily puts up 1,500+ yards. Georgia runs a run-heavy, pro-style attack. As a pro WR, it’s not even up for debate. X is a 5'9", 200 lb receiver who runs a 4.8. We just haven’t had any legitimate top-tier WRs, so a guy like X—who’s more of a WR2/3 type—is getting WR1 targets.

X’s numbers are inflated due to our scheme. He’s a good short-area route runner who can get open on quick 5–10 yard throws. A lot of his production came from schemed plays or from getting open after 5–6 seconds when Cam was scrambling. X was a solid WR for us, but it’s unrealistic to say he’s better than Ladd, who is a 1,200-yard, 7TD WR as a rookie in the NFL.

They play different roles and would complement each other perfectly in any scheme.

Cam with X, Ladd, Arroyo and either George or Horton last year would have even better numbers.
