Ladd's stats through 9 games in 2023: 478 yards/2tds
X's stats through 9 games in 2024: 856/9Tds

X's college production gives him the edge. Question is will X's 'lack of straight line speed' hurts him in the NFL, and time will tell. That's a different conversation.

The point of the whole original comment is that people on the board don't want to call X a WR1, which is fine. If Ward didn't have a WR that fit the 'WR1' criteria, you can't then say Beck did in 2023
Agreed. Hard saying X wasn't WR1. If his stats and connection with Cam don't qualify, then what is the criteria.

Geo also enthusiastically entered a pick for Haulcy to the good guys as well. TIFWIW
This was sent to me in a screenshot in a group chat. I love how context clearly doesn’t get added here either. I was also the first to report what Haulcy’s agents were demanding and also backed off the pick at the very same time. Everything was going very well through his visit, up until he left Miami and his agents demanded more and more to “give up his SEC dream” by the end of the week.”

I also brought up LSU since the very beginning as a program that was lurking and waiting to see who would bite in the market on Haulcy. There are total receipts to all of this and everything I’ve said, please don’t try to discredit me. I’ll take an L when I have an L and have always done so, but this is disingenuous and I will defend myself from BS.

@Geo305 Please remember, this is CIS! Lack of context; irrational and poorly-thought-out narratives; mopes vs. slurpers; etc. are all part of the DNA. Don't be offended man...we are what we are and that's all that we are.

I think people are way over stating how bad Wes has been. He was at the very worst an average starting LB this year. He can play fine.

The by far biggest issue he has is clearly imo he isn't very football smart. Simple as that. 2 yrs ago we watched every single play this dude was looking to Kiko to get lined up and told what to do pre-snap. Last year our entire back 7 had no clue what to do ever, and our DLine was too busy stunting every play...

To me it's all mental with him. If he knows what he's doing he can be our best LB this year. Again his actual play on the field last year really wasn't all that bad, it was pretty solid. But if you cant trust him to know what he's doing as a senior, you can't trust him to start, period. Him and Bobby Washington need to drastically improve their study/film work.

We have a **** load invested in DLine and DB. I absolutely think going for just solid at LB is okay. But that's the thing they can't be total liabilities that don't know what their assignment is....

That’s a fair response and I stand corrected

The criteria is you put up the same numbers or a little worse but you're also 6'2" and run a 4.4, because that matters more than production for some reason.

I would love to know who this first round WR he played with is? I'd probably take 2024 X over 2023 McConkey any day of the week. If someone in the building told X to fake an injury and not run the 40, he would have have been a 2nd/3rd round pick. You cant say X isn't a WR1, then turn around and say Lad McConkey fits that bill
bowers....

he was their WR1...
Bingo. This is exactly why I hate the term 'WR1'. People on this board have ridiculous standards of what a WR1 should look like, and it has little to do with production. To me, this term 'WR1' really just means you have a highly productive receiving threat, regardless of their position or measurements. It's a teams go-to guy, which is why I'd personally view X as a number 1 receiving threat. Same reason you view Bowers as one as well

i think X was our WR1 too. now, is Bowers closer to Jeremiah Smith in terms of WR1 ability than X. yes bowers was an elite talent and hes proven it in the nFL. X is not that and likely will not be that or will ever get to that level.

I also think cam ward made our overall receivers better than they were which elite qbs do. i do think beck will need more help bc he isnt as good or as physically talented as Cam Ward.

You see, that I do respect a lot. I didn’t mean to come off like a jackass toward you if it did, but I wouldn’t have been able to open my own company in this industry over the past year without building a reputation to a certain point. Believe I’m one of only two in the market along with Dmoney to actually pull that off, who I’ve considered a great friend for many years now.

So, you have to understand that my integrity means a lot, and I can’t play around with fibs or guesses. People have given a lot of respect for actually putting my name on things rather than hedge betting or playing both sides of a fence. It’s also a balancing act of what I do and don’t share, as some things can be sensitive topics.

The jury is out on Bissainthe as a true difference-maker at LB (those guys usually stand out right away as freshmen) but he is very solid.

We’re all a little selective in when we use PFF grades, but his are good. His pass rush grade matches the eye test- he needs to get better there and is somewhat limited by his straight-linish movement.
