Mike Rumph

Any chance the Cane's will move on from him? He doesn't develop any of our CBs. He rarely puts our CBs in the NFL and when he does they are late draft picks. Our CBs have poor technique and constantly have their back turned when the ball is in the air. He's a poor recruiter tbh... He just lost a recruiting battle to UCF and the only CB we have in this class is Marcus Clark who is converting from WR. It wouldn't effect our class if we moved on from him. It might be the perfect time in my opinion

Gotta be a troll porst...

so two nationally coveted 4 star players and a mid round draft pick.

so impressive!

Under 25% of 4 star recruits are drafted

2014 Class - 247Sports Composite

5-star: 33 (57.6% drafted)
4-star: 296 (23.6% drafted )
3-star: 1,541 (6.9% drafted)
2-star: 1,666 (1.1% drafted)
NR: NA

2013 Class - 247Sports Composite

Five-star: 35 (65.7% drafted)
Four-star: 330 (23% drafted)
Three-star: 1,790 (5% drafted)
Two-star: 1,720 (1.4% drafted)

I think development plays a part in that. The real question should be, is anyone on the staff hitting at a higher percentage than the stats listed above.

If anyone thinks the Safeties are playing good they are blind.
Banda should be fired asap. His entire job is to recruit and he sucks at it.

Baker was as bad or worse. Idk how the **** Shaq and Pinckney were so ******* bad this year, but they were. And their decision to play a walkon when Pinckney went down was down right retarded. I really don't get what the **** role Patke has on this staff. It's not like he can teach our kicker/punter how to kick, so if all he does is suck at recruiting, teach our strikers to regress (Finley regressed 100%), and our kickoff unit to run straight and stay in their lane, he has 0 value.

No one our defensive staff can recruit no idea why this site only picks on Rumph.

At least Rumph had Al blades playing well. Banda for w/e reason always rotated Bubba and Hall out instead of playing them together. Our LB depth was **** because of Diaz , the great Ragon played. Old *** Stroud was retiring and had Patchen starting over GR15 and could not do **** against FIU. He also can’t recruit
That's the problem, Rumph was 1/3 in 2018 out of the CBs he landed. Blades is the only guy who seems to be able to play CB at a high level, Ivey is slow af, and Gilbert was never a CB. That is really bad.

People act like these other guys are better recruiters than rumph , they are just as average if not WORSE. Rumph is a good coach and above average recruiter he’s bringing in talent at the position every year but people act like he doesn’t( you don’t help bring in 7 4 stars in 2017-2019 not being one). People keep crying about 5 star corners, what elite db is going to come here when we are struggling like this on the field?
Rumph is not a good recruiter. You can talk about all the 4 stars he has landed, but as of rn you can only point to 1 being good and that is Blades. Ivey slow af, Gilbert, cant even believe he thought he could play CB at a D1 level and though I have hope for Couch and Williams the jury is still out on them. This proves he is sub par at evaluating talent, so what happens when he does not land any 4 star CBs this class, will you stop bringing up how many 4 stars he has got. The dude is trash and not that good.

Proof. Give us the proof of what you are claiming. Either that or eat a ****. Judging by your comment, you would probably prefer the latter.

i find it incredibly bizarre that you side with the miserable coach over the health of the program.

rumph was a high school coach who helped richt recruit a huge prize. he was brought on bc it was assumed he would help recruit south florida. then, when it was obvious he is the worst recruiter in the sport, the tribalistic folks such as yourself decided to pretend he’s some technician.

he’s not. he’s a ****head failure of an NFL player who cant recruit or coach, and hes an ******* to boot. hes turned more good players away from UM than he has landed.

Again preference of fire order...And at least 1 of the DB coaches have to be part of this. They carry a lifetime supply of recruit repellent

1. Blake James
2. Dan Enos
3. Butch Barry
4. Mike Rumph
5. Blake Baker
6. Taylor Stubblefield
7. Ephraim Banda

I'd love to wipe all 7 right off the media guide right now. But at least 4 need to go with 2,3, and one of the DB coaches being non-negotiable.

Then Diaz next year if we don't win 10, or at least a strong 9

He's not a bad coach at all...But not what his defenders make him out to be. You nailed the recruiting analysis...CAn't put up with his failures any longer, gotta go.

not one shred of proof. Only conjecture. You're a fool.

Craziest part is alot of his misses haven't done anything at other schools.

I think he stinks and is borderline useless as a coach. Hundreds of DB coaches could do what he's done here with what he gets. Hundreds.

He's also one of the worst recruiters we've ever had here. His track record is so poor, it blows my mind.

Dude is a good guy and all, but he stinks at his job.

Banda isn't much farther off. Both guys should be gone and you can replace them with one guy with their salaries combined. You'll definitely get a better recruiter and the coaching will be fine regardless.
