Mike Halrey

Anyone know if Harley or Thomas returned punts/kicks in high school? Would be nice to finally get back the explosiveness on returns Miami used to always have, and has been sorely lacking lately.

1st down makers all over the mother****ing place now. And, that's how ya win big games.

Only way you have a chance at those routes is jamming dude and hoping you can rough him up

His HS tape he was pretty good at slapping the corners hands down on the jam and the backwards stutter step. Kid is like a 711.

Thomas did & played CB too...

Jhavonte Dean was also a return specialist in High School & at Blinn, and has legit 4.3 speed.

Plus, we could still get Grad transfer Jeff Badet for the sole purpose of being a KR/PR.

Last year we couldn't afford to put Coley back there due to lack of depth, but this year we'll have way more options.

Although, Berrios did a **** good job ensuring that we never had a fumble on PR's... Literally the best hands on Punt Returns in the country.

But, I only want him to take Punts this season in situations where we'll have bad field position & can't risk a fumble...

Otherwise, let one of the young Speedster get us a TD for once lol

AR15, Harley, Thomas, Mullins. Nobody has to convince a one of these kids they're great. They all believe it. Old school, c0cky WRs right there. They each believe they're better than the DB across from them.

If we wouldn't risk Corn on returns, I can't see any chance of Dean back there. I'm hoping one of Thomas or Harley can give us the explosiveness we've lacked on returns. That would be ideal.

Cager too. We have a great mix of talents at WR now. A do it all stud in AR. Elite speed in Thomas and Harley. Huge targets that can go up and get the ball in Cager and Njoku. I'm expecting big things from Herndon as well. Our new QB definitely has some talent to make his job easier.

Don't forget about the track star. We have seriously increased the speed on this team.

College cbs are a different animal, bigger and longer arms. But it's a lot harder to press slot guys

Agreed but Aquinas plays a very difficult schedule. Slot will be a new position for him, think he mainly played outside at STA.
