Michael Irvin II out for season

He's a good kid, and I hate to see injuries happen to any one of our guys. But &hit happens, unfortunately.

Irvin was NOT a good run blocker, but we will miss his veteran experience and definitely the position depth.

Silver lining: We get Brevin and Will up the curve much faster. BTW: it's 2018 not 1998 - Stop underestimating what talented Freshman can do if they prepare and work hard!

AND - It helps make Hartley's need case to Zip that much more believable. Keon, what's up, son?!?!
 
Im sure he will bounce back but the Starters were going to be Jordan and Mallory anyway so not a big loss aside from depth

SMH...Richt not making Jerome Washington a priority when He took the job has come back to bite em' in the ***. Yeah yeah it's Rutgers, but He was their leading pass catcher last year. Big, experienced TEs like Him that can block and catch don't come a dime a dozen.

Oh yeah Richt is thinking about how fckd he is bc of Jerome Washington
 
At least this happened early compared to a week before the game, our young guys will get more quality snaps now.

It's like beating a dead horse to bring this up again but the offense has to be more creative with alignment, motion, constraints and general utilization of personnel. Our best chance of success is to scheme guys open and create easy defined reads for Rosier. Isolation routes and basic zone scheme run game isn't gonna bring us titles with or without reliable TE play.

You certainly can run 20 personnel in pistol/spread formations and run effectively. Here is where we need Choc to really step up. Polendy can play inline tight end when needed. The pups will have to step up.

Hope so, but I don't see it. Big kid, but I don't think He has that physicality...would've been bussin' heads on STs by now if He was physical.

I don't think so.

We probably had 5 JUCOs on the roster at some points during the Butch years.

Some schools load up on them - K State comes to mind, and the schools in Mississippi.

Our roster management with TEs could have been better.

Once we get the numbers back with this year's class hopefully it'll stay that way - same with the DL and DBs after this year's class.

I highly doubt Patchan is going anywhere.

He can play DE and we don't have too many DEs either.

Someone else needs to move or a walk-on needs to get some reps - if we have any that are decent.

Or maybe they would consider moving Langham.

He's probably bigger than a lot of TEs in college, anyway.

And we've got loads of WRs.

Polendey is 6'6 245 and is supposedly more adept at blocking than anything else. Maybe Patchan (6'6 255) can get some situational reps at TE if needed (while being primarily DE)? Like many have mentioned, brining in a 6th OL in running situations is a good move.

We all know Mallory and Jordan are insanely talented, but they need time to get comfortable with the system and be dependable. However, from a physical standpoint, Jordan is ready.

Obviously, I'd rather it didn't occur. I feel bad for Irvin. But, I'm not overly worried about this.

Langham definitely has the size to play TE. 6'4" probably 230, linebackers wouldn't be able to guard him he's too fast.
 
Langham is the only viabale option. Evidence way way too skinny, Choc is our starting fullback, & we need Patchan at DE.
