Miami vs UNC game may have to be cancelled/rescheduled

Sorry, but he's right on this one. If you want to define a hurricane by every cloud associated with it, then fine, it's huge. Florida Today is a newspaper and they sensationalize everything in pursuit of clicks.

Hurricane force winds are very tight around the center. Tropical storm winds extend a little further out. I'm due east of it as well and so far this is a non-event. We've maybe had a couple of tropical storm gusts.
If you know you know. People will fall for anything when its put on the news. I've literally watched a guy standing in area where there was a storm drain in knee deep water talking about flooding and we where on the opposite corner getting lunch. For real is is sensationalism at its finest.

Right or wrong the UNC admin will probably err on the side of caution if it looks like it might make landfall in NC.

Interstate 26 headed south from Columbia into Charleston is closed today, they are using 26 for evacuations. Most of Charleston is shutting down today.

That's the thing it's not going to and they won't cancel a game because of it do you remember that the LBGT thing in NC a few years back? They are a red state and are not ran by a bunch of puzzys that buy into the sensationalism of today's media. They actually will gather data from multiple sources and make their own opinion and not worry about what some crybaby liberal thinks about it being "Just a game" it's the south college football is a religion.

I live in NC, I can assure you 'red' is not very represented on many university campus administrations. 20 years ago maybe... When Greenville was waterlocked the ECU football team got an police escort to Raleigh to 'host' the Canes. Contrast that to last year when they canceled a trip to VT 4 days out due to the chance a hurricane was coming.

True but that's ECU not UNC but I see where your coming from. Either way you if you're a diehard you absolutely dont want to see this game canceled.

To be fair ECU is way more red than the 'wine and cheese' crowd of UNC. But we do feel the effects of hurricanes more severely than the triangle area here in the east.

UNC and Pitt play each other on Thursday 11/14. Neither of them play the previous Saturday, 11/9. They could move that game to 11/9, and move Miami/UNC to 11/16. Miami has a bye that week. Would be a pretty easy thing to do, actually. Really only have to change 1 game.

Would be ****** for us though, we'd have 9 straight weeks with a game and no bye week, starting with VT on 10/5.

Everything after “probably not” was not the topic or the issue.

The back and forth was about the bullshlt media-fueled assertion that this thing was the “size of Georgia” - I wouldn’t have a house if it was. I barely got rain or wind and I was in or on the “orange circle”

You can speculate all you want about the impact to NC...but that’s not the point.
People have been contaminated by The Weather Channel. They do nothing but spew fear and nonsense. I put that **** on and they were pimping a roofing company and, of course, State Farm. It’s an infomercial of fear to make people buy the **** they’re pitching.

I used to love John Morales who was the meteorologist and hurricane expert on local Dade NBC6. I moved to Palm Beach County and don’t get Morales on the local channels here. That dude would always give the real info and wasn’t looking to pimp product and fear monger.

It’s getting ridiculous these days with the fear. I couldn’t find gas a week before this piece of **** Dorian was even supposed to hit. People were in a total panic.

Morales is very active on twitter and a good follow. Agree on him, he's pretty level-headed.

Morales was definitely not a hype monster like the others.

Umm the governor of NC is a Democrat, the Triangle is pretty **** liberal and none of that has anything to do with them cancelling the game. Student safety and player safety will probably be the main factors of if/when the game will be moved or cancelled.

The game will get played as normal. I live in NC and Dorian is supposed to be gone or finished Friday night.

Who gives a fack about politics? Nothing to do with the game.

Alabama physically evacuated itself.
