MIAMI vs ALABAMA depth charts

Geez, this is like the slurper/mope octagon.

By the eye and what have they done lately "test", besides Hedley (likely #1-ish P in CFB), there isn't a single Hurricanes player today that would start at Bama.

That isn't moping, just unfortunate reality for now.

Our Canes habit of 3-outs are going to be brutal on the D to hold the line--that is the single biggest factor in the game leading to an embarrassing blow out
Hard to do anything when you are 3rd and 15 or worse...joe Montana couldn't fix that.

Yup. Zion looked like the same old Zion in the spring game to me too.

Lake reminds me of those Warslant writers back in the mid 2000s that said FSUs Oline would be a strength on the team. For no reason other than they had a lot of experience and were all upperclassmen. Well guess what? They still sucked.

Rarely do you see a huge improvement by an OL if they are already sufficient weight and size wise. Zion was ready last year. Sure they can fine tune some things but these guys are what they are.

Exactly.. just bc players have more experience doesn’t mean they’re better players. This oline group has never been able to dominate a dline especially when it comes to the running game. Bamas dline is going to destroy them and there is nothing they can do about it outside of taking steroids. They have the advantage in the trenches on both sides not even close.

Saying the talent level of Miami, 2 deep to 3 deep, is comparable or even close to Alabama‘s, is delusional.

For Miami to win it’s going to have to out-scheme and out-coach Alabama, because there is zero chance we can beat them by out-talenting them.

I‘ll leave it to each individual to figure out our odds.
It’s more delusional to think we will outscheme or out coach them. King has to morph into VY 2006 edition plus a few turnovers

Common sense my man.
For those who don’t know...Ryan Braun’s old boy’s daddy who wrote all the scripts has a new place in Doral. All them boys should be there lol.

This is probably why Lashlee wants a primary RB. How many running plays ended up with a tackle behind the line of scrimmage? If we can at least get positive yardage, it makes subsequent downs easier.

BTW, they have that thread Lake started and his write up on their board... needless to say it gave them something to laugh about....

The OL comparison was their favorite, too...
It was my favorite too. We need new writers on 247 ASAP.

I like that. My main concern is mental toughness, we seem to wilt after the refs make calls against us. If we can bounce back strong from untimely calls or self inflicted situations then we can win.

In the last 10 years, AL as lost 8 games, they've replaced depth before. If you're hanging your hat on "experience," guess what? Don't. They are the less experienced team quite often, but it's rendered meaningless by top tier recruiting and an unfathomable amount of support staff.

Teams that have had success against them have done two very specific things well: stretch the field and block on the perimeter. If you cannot threaten them vertically or take advantage of their aggression, things get out of hand fast. Pounding the rock into the teeth of their defense isn't a gameplan.

Catching and running at the same time has been a challenge for our wide receivers. If they haven't gotten that ironed out by kickoff, the replay will be on PornHub.

Did I say we would? I’m making no predictions, I’m just saying what I think needs to happen. The rest is up to the fates.

And by the way, there is absolutely NO GUARANTEE that King will be good to go by game one vs Alabama. Keep that in mind.

After a quick review of "way-to-early" Bama internet content drivel, the confidence in our Canes isn't very high to even make it a respectable game.

Predictions that gave a score were all in the Bama 40+ - Miami 10+ range. Same scores they gave for Tide's tilt against Tennessee.

The others that gave just a W-L prediction all gave Bama the nod and used words/phrases like "tune up", "winning handedly", "no serious chance [Miami] at winning", "[Miami] has long way to go to be competitve in the type of game".

Blah blah blah.

Go shock the world Hurricanes!

Sorry but Mallory is better than all their TE's so yeah there's that.

King>Bryce Young, and Mac Jones for that matter. Why do our "fans" have to suck so much, so often?

We're talking about a guy who accounted for 50 TDs in 2018 and actually threw well-placed 9 routes in stride rather than gimmicky glance routes and screens to 1st rd NFL studs with massive pockets to stand in. A well-regarded draft evaluator who was much higher on Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, etc than consensus was talking about King as a legit NFL prospect before the 2020 season. Keep your moping BS narratives to yourselves.

I don't disagree but where were those well-placed 9 routes last year? I remember a lot of overthrows and or out of bound passes (the easy throw against UAB for example).

First round pick, highest completion % in a NCAA season ever and 208 QBR that dwarfs any QBR King has had in any season Mac Jones?

That Mac Jones??

Yeahhhh, OK

Great question. New offense, new supporting cast and with COVID he didn't have the best opportunity to get integrated. Regardless his numbers would look a lot better with competent WR play. Now he's missed out on another offseason of on-field work but I'm optimistic about his recovery.

Right the guy who's thrown more screen yards and a higher % of screens than any QB in this class, and maybe ever? With an NFL OL and 2 top 15 picks at WR? That guy? Yeah.

Take away the RPOs and screens and wide open crossers and you're left with a bunch of underthrown deep balls where Waddle and Smith made spectacular catches coming back to the ball. Cool stats though!
