Miami Talent after Recruiting and Portal

Safety is the only question mark I feel we didn’t really address unless Powell is moving to safety…

Other than that I think we upgraded a ton especially in the premium draft spots of QB and DE. Some real difference makers
Powell was always a safety, well he was at Washington

Miami added 40 players from the portal and high school recruiting this offseason. We lost 38 players to NFL, graduation, and portal. That means almost half our roster is new (!)

Here's some numbers. Using 247 player rankings, the average ranking of our incoming players is 0.9. The average ranking of our outgoing players is 0.9.

So according to rankings and such things, Miami talent level shoud be about the same as last year. Mario did a good job replacing the talent we lost - we improved at some spots (QB) and got worse at others (DB) . According to the rankings, it's a wash.

Of course we all think and hope that we got better, regardless of what the numbers say. Just the QB addition alone should make a difference. But of course it all remains to be seen.

So if the talent is the same and the coaching staff is the same, we are we all expecting double digit wins?

tOSU and Bama are at an Elite Blue Chip Ratio right now. FSU is at 49% so technically below the cut off for BCS of 50%, unless you count transfers.

How has this stat performed in the past?

  • 2023: Michigan won it all with a 54% mark.
  • 2022: Georgia took home the title in dominant fashion with a 77% ratio.
  • 2021: Georgia had an 80% BCR and won it all, beating the No. 1 BCR team, Alabama, in the title game. Three of the four CFP teams were BCR teams; Cincinnati was the first party crasher since 2017.
  • 2020: Alabama had an 83% BCR and won it all. All four CFP teams were BCR schools.
  • 2019: LSU won it with a 64% BCR. All four CFP teams were BCR schools.
  • 2018: Clemson took it home with a 68% mark. All four CFP teams were BCR schools.
  • 2017: Alabama won it all with an incredible 80% mark.
  • 2016: Clemson took home the title after signing 52% blue chips in the 2013-16 classes.
  • 2015: Alabama had a 77% mark.
  • 2014: Ohio State won the title with a 68%.
  • 2013: Florida State was at 53%.
  • 2012: Alabama was at 71%.
  • 2011: 'Bama won the first of its back-to-back titles ... also with a 71% mark.

Excellent job and I applaud your effort. Having said that, I don't care what the numbers say. We most certainly got better and this rooster is much more talented.

They not gonna want to hear this, I still see post saying if we get 8 wins this year it shows improvements..

Mario got these boys standards below the floor in year 3 with a Heisman level qb, he untouchable :ibis-roflmao-sm3:
8 wins with this roster is a borderline disaster, at best it’s massively disappointing. This is reg season too, not with a bowl game included.

Only 8 wins (injuries notwithstanding) and next season won’t be pretty. We lose our…
QB1
RB1
Potentially 3 starting OL, minimum 2
Potentially all 3 starting WR, probably 2
Potentially starting TE
Barrow, Clark, Cook
Alston, Baron, maybe Mesidor

2 LBs (Kiko + Alderman), maybe all 3 of Wes declares off a good year
Maybe Porter Jr at CB
Powell

That’s a LOT of expected production in 2024 even if the minimum leave.

& then it’ll be a recycled excuse for 2024-25 (we don’t have the pieces yet, we’re building).

The fact is, we need to win at least 10 this season. The schedule is favorable, & our roster is prime to breakout. This is the time to do so. It’s year 3, which is the year u’re supposed to be a rebuild come to full fruition.

In the entire time we have been stuck in this university imposed sanction of not investing in program and hiring corches off fired staffs, I have heard year 3 is where we better start to see results. The ENTIRETY of message board era I have seen WTACCOGTFO, but for Mario who is paid as elite premium in year 3 its nothing..

The insanity has gotten soooooo bad I had a poster basically say its better to lose Mario way and go 7-5 as long as its tuff n FiZiCaL than have a 10 win season like we had in 2017.. Im not even joking, I didnt even respond.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3: These guys are siiiiiick
