Miami opens up as a slight underdog vs. Notre Dame

Doesn't mean it will happen.....we not trash as you want to be the black sheep of the board to say you are right. It's like you want to have crow croquettas.

It’ll be a slugfest but I don’t get a great feeling going into this game mainly due to DT and LB situation. Maybe they’ll surprise…

The game will come down to Carr vs Beck, like football games usually do.

ND has a good line and good backs, they'll be able to run the ball. But they're not winning the game throwing for 87 yards, so Carr is going to have to make plays, and he's never played before, on the road, at night, in front of a VERY loud crowd (assuming the game is close). Everyone will be watching how he responds.

Beck will be in Game 1 of a new system with a bunch of new receivers. But so was Cam, on the road in Week 1 of 2024, and he looked OK.

Which QB plays better will almost certainly decide the game. Almost always does.

I’ve seen a lot of people brush them off on here. I will say it again since it was so unpopular the last time I said it - I see that RB and the middle of our front 6-7 and I think we’re gonna get gashed and dragged. I hate it and I would love to see otherwise but I don’t see us as strong against a run game like that. Maybe young guys take huge leaps though and that changes everything???
I see what your saying and I feel the same way about their QB. I just don't see him being able to handle the environment. As much as this board hates Hard Rock(not me) it is a really tough place to play when it's packed and rocking...

One thing to remember, Riley Leonard was a massive piece of the running game last year, and I don't think that'll be the case this year (in terms of QB run, I know Leonard is gone).

So Love is very good, the line is good, Price is very good....they'll have a young QB, on the road, they're definitely going to want to run the ball and will try to do so.

But the last 3 years as a coordinator, Denbrock has had a massive rushing threat as his QB. Jayden Daniels at LSU and Leonard at ND. Also had Desmond Ridder at Cincy before that. I'm very interested to see how he molds this offense with Carr, who is not nearly the running threat any of those kids were.

This game is going to be tough man. They’ve got good coaching. And good talent. Ufag had neither when we spanked them last year. That running back will test our discipline cause he’s fast and he can run away from our second level given the chance.

Also miss me with the new defensive coordinator talk. That defense will always be freeman’s defense as long as he’s there

If I am the one calling the defense, I am stacking tf out of the box and making the QB beat us in the air. Considering the investment in our secondary, we should be able to match up well with their passing attack. Stop the run, win the game IMO.

Miami hasn’t shown up for a Labor Day weekend primetime game since 2009 at FSU. They **** the bed at Maryland in 2011, at Louisville in 2014, and in Arlington against LSU in 2018. Not holding my breath for this one.

A great deal of that offense is gone. A great deal of that defense returns. Not a good combo if you ask me but hope you’re right.
ND doesn’t scare me and we have the advantage of playing at home.

The guys we have are all highly recruited players. We won’t know what we have until they play

Agreed. ND is going to try the game in a phone booth. Most likely in the same vein as their game vs 8&4 last season.

Best RB, and CB in CFB and best LB group. They are a deep and talented team with QB being their only question.

If Carr is a superstar they will be tough to beat. QB is such a huge part of the success of any really good team.

It’s the middle of our defense that is my concern.

One good thing I anticipate is that ND won't have a large traveling fanbase. in 2017, i would say 20% or more of the stadium was domer fans. once the asskicking commenced, they were 90% gone after the first drive in the second half. you could see the misery in their faces. it was joyous. no ******* way they are coming back.

They’re coming in really confident. I think they’ll travel just as well as 2017. They just went to the natty. 2017 was 8 years ago man
