Sure. The rule states that you have to complete the process of making the catch with a football move. This literally happens every week.

The problem is Lofton tried to bring it in to his body.

If he keeps his hands stretched out and away from the defender then, he completes the catch. The action of bringing the ball closer to his body had the ball moving slightly due to the defender grabbing his hand
