Jacobs can stretch the defense and has a TD catch opportunity if Mensah sets him up better on that PI play. If Jacobs had the snaps that Upshaw had vs Man, I'm convinced he makes a play in that first half.

You have to have the ball long enough to have possession. Or a "football move" as they call it. Catching the ball and taking one step does not mean it's a completion. You have to maintain possession all the through.

A football move is catching the ball and stepping out of bounds. The play is dead when the player steps out of bounds. You need a football move if you’re in bounds, you need to survive the ground if you fall to the ground. The defense does not get extra time to defense the play after the player is out of bounds.

Are you blind? He caught the ball and landed with 2 feet, then took a step out of bounds.

It was the play before that that was an obvious PI. We can’t expect to get that call there. Bottom line on the TD catch sadly he needed to control it OB. I don’t love that especially since I believe they have changed that in the NFL, but it is what it is.
