We just payed 7 million to get rid of golden but wont pay 2.5 to get a coach we want. Hahahaha ok.

Not saying we hire him but 2.5 million wouldnt stop miami from getting him.

Yes that is why. Consider the BoT willingly threw away the 2015 season just because they wanted to save a couple mil on the buyout.

The are NOT paying another buyout to hire a guy.

Bull****. Miami would have saved significantly on the Golden firing if they'd waited until December. All signs point to a greater willingness to open the pocket book this go around. History gives us every reason to be skeptical, but you're spouting bull**** with misplaced confidence.

I don't have multiple sauces. I just have one sauce. On the BoT. They are NOT paying another buyout to hire the next coach.

Sorry to pop your bubble.

So they will only hire mario, chud, or schiano is what youre saying. Sorry dont buy that.

Some like Butch, others don't. Some like Mario, others don't. Some like Schiano, others don't.

It's a scrambled mess but they don't want to pay any more buyouts.

There are tons of good corches available that won't necessitate paying another school millions to take them.

That is where the search will start.

They could have waited till December and got any of those 3 guys and saved the additional $4M on Folden's buyout.

Wasn't it also reported that UM paid an additional $4M to get rid of Folden now instead of waiting till December? Seems to me that the money myth is being exploded by actions.

If miami payed 7 million to fire him. They sure wouldnt pass on a coach for a 2.5 million buy out. Yea if thats true. They would have saved 4 million by waiting a couple months.

They were forced to make the move early this year. Clemson made sure of it. The situation was too metastasised to allow it to continue.

Miami not having money to spend has always been a myth.

Miami being exceedingly miserly with it's monies for athletics is a well known fact.

You might not be aware but there is an entire league full of coaches that don't require paying a buyout if Miami hired one of them.

It's called the NFL. You should check it out. It's groundbreaking stuff.

Because miami is well known for hiring from the nfl.

Then they could have fired Fraulden at the end of last season, for the same buyout they're paying now. They could have saved this season, instead of trashing it.

Those 2 concepts don't jive. There was nothing forcing them to eat that $4M. They did it because they felt it was a good idea. It was a pretty impulsive move actually.

I'm with you on the miserly thing, but if you're too miserly to hire a working HC (they all have buyouts), then you don't fire your guy early and eat $4M you don't have to eat.

If Cane Dynasty is telling the truth, sounds like UM will again **** up this hire.

Smh

I'm sure he's telling the truth. Problem with UM is that there are about 40 different factions all with their own truths. This is the problem you have when you have a ****-soaked powerless sock puppet for an AD and a bunch of casual football fans all with their own ideas making the hiring/firing decisions.

Sooooo....Charlie strong? :)

As for nfl guys, if it's a good team, we might not see that guy until mid Jan. We have to get a guy not only who won't have a prohibitive buyout, but that would join this team (at the latest) when the season ends.

Has there ever been a pro guy leave his team before the season ended to join a college team? I'm sure there is one but I can't think of one.

They wanted to wait until the end of the season and save the money of course. After the Clemson game the uproar was just too much. I'm not arguing that it's good judgment or good business sense but neither was extending Gorlden or keeping him after last season. It seems like a recurring theme.

Idk, I'm not sold on the guy yet.

I've read some stuff on him and he seems to do and say the right things, but he hasn't proven himself as a head coach yet, in my opinion.

Sure, Houston is 7-0, but what's their biggest win? A 3 point win against unranked Louisville? And then what? A win against Tulsa or Tulane?

Not saying he won't be good, but I just feel like at this point we can't risk another "maybe" coach...it needs to be a guy who has been there and done it before...AKA Butch

All you can do is play, and beat, the teams on your schedule. Who the **** did Golden beat in his time at Temple to warrant getting hired?
