Miami has inquired about Tom Herman (per CBS Miami)

Herman is trying to do at Houston what made Miami great. He's stated as much.

Why not let him do that at the real deal?

Did we can Golden early and give up a lot of money by not waiting for December because we got our eye on Herman and don't want to lose him to schools that have an already open slot?

I think its obvious that we started to talk to people after the Cincy game. The 58-0 accelerated the process. If Golden lost 41-24 he would still be in house.

I just looked at Houston's results this year. They haven't beaten anyone of note, in my opinion.

In thinking about coaches like Urban Meyer... that dude took Utah to a BCS bowl when Utah was in the Mountain West Conference and Utah won that game! Finished 13-0.

Let's slow our roll on Herman. He may well become an elite HC, but it would represent another very risky hire.

Let's get a proven coach - let's get Butch F-ing Davis!

Who did Utah beat of note that year in their first 7 games?

Texas A&M and Arizona. The Utes went 10-2 in the previous season, with wins over California, Oregon, and Pitt (in the Fiesta Bowl).

Meyer had achieved a lot more prior to being hired by Florida than Herman will have achieved by the end of this season.

A&M and Arizona weren't good back then. I don't want to have a beef over Urb though because he's clearly the elite of the elite. Herman isn't as proven as Urb was after a couple years at Utah.

You can wait until Herman is proven and your reward will be to admire from a distance as he wins with other teams and becomes untouchable. However, playing it safe isn't the Miami way. Look at the guy's attitude and the way he coaches. Look at the fact that he has been successful at every job he has had. Breaking school records at small schools, putting their offenses in the top ten (We see you Rice), making QB's elite, and even being a part of the best coach in college's (Urban > Saban) staff and winning a championship. Then you decide if you want to ride with this dude as your coach or make a safe pick.

If it's not Butch, it needs to be Herman. Neither, look like nice safe picks but they are what we need.

We have 5-6 weeks before the season is over, we get a head start on evaluating coach's.
No Mario no Shula should be a given

Everyone keeps saying he hasn't done much but he beat Louisville his first year while we been getting smacked by them while golden was here his attitude and mindset is what Miami needs that BBB crap is a pipe dream and it doesn't really appeal to me I feel like we can start a new chapter in the history of canes football with a new hire new name new enthusiasm
