Considering Davis would've come out of thin air and he could fill multiple roles, I think this more likely means no Paris Ford.

All it says is that we have reached out to him in the last 2 weeks which could mean before the Davis fiasco. Hartley did go by and see him and Banda talked on the phone with him

This is a nice find by the coaching staff. With Paris Ford looking unlikely, this could be a viable replacement for Billy Gibson.

The recruiting newbies seem to forget that some kids slip through the cracks and that our staff is constantly evaluating and resetting the board.

Kid has off the charts athletic ability.

Tariq Carpenter ESPN COMBINE SPARQ RATING
4.69 40 yard dash
4.10 20 yard shuttle
42 inch vert
34 foot power throw
115.15 SPARQ RATING

The 4.69 is not great but it could have been a slow track or something. The kid is an all state caliber high, long and triple jumper.

Haven't watched film but this is the type of physical ability you want.

More likely means we knew Bulky Gibson was a rat and started looking at other Safeties while he was committed.

That vertical is nuts. Shows supreme explosiveness.

Ok watching the film.

This kid is a take all day.

Fluid athlete with off the charts agility who looks physically ready to play at the college level tomorrow.

This doesn't mean anybody isn't a take. They're covering their bases and making sure just in case they have a plan C in place

A 4.69 is actually very solid for a HS junior. Add in an elite vertical and great shuttle. What was his size height/weight?

Edit*: nevermind, saw he's listed at 6' 2" 190.

This is why fans assuming they know our "board" are mentally defective. You have to constantly evaluate and re-evaluate until signing day and even after. There are incredible under-publicized athletes committed to shytty third tier programs like USF and UCF.

4.69 very solid for a DB ? There are LBs faster than that

Basically the same measurables out of high school that Gerald Alexander had coming out of college
