Miami Does Not Need A Portal QB In 26

If you guys think Nickel or Coleman has any shot of opening the season as our starting QB next season, you've lost your **** minds.

Fun fact: Mario has been a HC of 3 teams across 15 seasons. His starting QB has had prior starting experience in 14 of 15 of those seasons. The only one who didn't was Tyler Shough in 2020's COVID season.

But that's not because Mario didn't try to find someone else. He still took a transfer starter (Anthony Brown). But Brown sucked and didn't win the job until 2021 after Shough transferred.

So unless you want to spend 8 months of the off-season dreading the fact that Emory will be our starting QB, you better hope we hit the portal.

I’d play Baby Jesus at QB before anyone from our present QB room, just sayin’
Paul Johnson is available, think he'd come be Offensive Coordinator?

We will portal and we should

Don’t break the bank for high school QBs. It’s ******* stupid. Coleman and Nickel are two good prospects to have on the depth chart and maybe one emerges at some point

Until then, just keep buying one in the portal

And stop with the “WE HAVE TO DEVELOP”

No we don’t

***** overrated

Definitely need portal Qb for 2026.
Have not been recruiting/ targeting elite HS QBs
They are spending n portal QBs which is smart.
Cannot go into 26 with the guys on roster

I like either Sellers or Avery Johnson ( KState)

Don’t know, but my SIL’s firm placed him at Ga Tech back in 2008, I’ll ask him… JFC
He's had a few years off and probably doesn't really want back.

That said, a two year run against defenses that have had a decade to grow ignorant of such ways with Mario's O-line/RBs and an Jamelle Holieway / Antwaan Randel-El / Charlie Ward level talent might sound fun.

Hey man, mentioned in a another post, but a gripe of mine was maybe not hang your hat on a qb that is coming off rehab and won't be throwing until fall practices....That said, did you listen to Beck's presser where he mentioned he was unable to throw in much of the fall and is still finding his place in this offense? How about we add, don't go looking for a QB that might not be 100% for a while??? lol

Too much to ask??

Nickel threw a pass 50 yards short of the intended target. Worst deep pass I have ever seen! Buddy was wide open and it was extremely under thrown

Go get the vacuum guy. Now that's a QB we can fix. He might even pay us to get out of TCU after that ****show last night

Get the best QB available, period. There is no such thing as having too much QB depth, especially when you know your backup(Emory) isn't a difference maker and you have two youngsters with limited experience behind him. Not using the portal is coaching malpractice, and Mario knows first hand how much an elite QB changes programs.

Sorsby. It’s actually a good thing for us that he’s hit a bit of a rough patch. More he slides down the draft board towards third round, the better the chances he decides to come back one more year to boost his draft stock. I said it before- I think he puts up Cam Ward numbers in our offense . Pair that with having an actual defense and we can win a national championship.
